so many revolutions happening. I can't even keep up with the pace.
I wonder how long this entire period of unrest is going to last around the world.
Oh yeah, because there's totally nothing wrong with the US. Like, say, corporations having more rights than citizens, the media censoring anything that disagrees with them, the Patriot Act using the Bill of Rights for toilet paper, a two-party system that essentially removes all choice from voting, a Congress that listens to corporate lobbyists more than it listens to the people or even common fucking sense, and a judiciary that's still living in 1911.
I don't live in the US but I'm sure it's a similar enough situation in Australia. It's not such an oppressive and horrible lifestyle that a protest is legitimate, let alone necessary. You have to think that when these protests are occurring and then once they're finished, the shake up has only begun. It starts years of rebuilding a functioning society and doing so ruins the economy for years, even decades. I don't think the US or many Western democracies have a solid reason behind revolution at this point. Implementation of fundamental changes including those you listed are necessary, but I expect they'll come in with a new generation of politicians.
Get a real source. 90% of news posters are worthless thread topic readers. You're dumb.
I think this will end up twenty times as bad as Libya.
There is no revolution.
viva la revolution!
Nothing is going down.
Awwww man shit's going down
There is no revolution.
so many revolutions happening. I can't even keep up with the pace.
Ye wow this is so cool.
This is just amazing, I wonder if they knew about all the other countries that are protesting or was it just a coincidence?
[editline]24th February 2011[/editline] There would be a rule in news that if your source is shit you get banned.
Civil disobedience gives me dry orgasms.
God who is next in the Protester Bandwagon? Russia? UK? England?
What's wrong with the current one? Even this one sources another, Chosun Ilbo.
I was just wondering, just to see if it wasn't a The Onion type article.
I wonder how long this entire period of unrest is going to last around the world.
Long, hopefully. You know you love it, we are all dissident intellectuals and subversives here.
Who's next? China?
I hope people don't start trying to revolt in any old country just to ride the tide, that would be scary. People can't control themselves a lot of the time in situations like that. Phillies won the world series a while ago, and they looted all of broad street, smashed windows of an FYE and tore apart cars and trucks.

:bandwagon:
If it escalates to a revolution sure, but this is just a protest thingie. "In 2011, Egypt successfully had a revolOMG I WAS THERE!"
Some guy writes a story, with no source, and everyone jizzes all over it... Stay predictable, Facepunch.
Uh, wow. Holy shit. I wasn't expecting that.
Some guy writes a story, with no source, and everyone jizzes all over it... Stay predictable, Facepunch.
Oh hey another intelligent person in this fucking thread.
Oh hey another intelligent person in this fucking thread. Its a damn miracle. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] Topic reader here derp.
The hell is your problem? I did read the thread, I honestly didn't expect any type of social conflict whatsoever. I'd assumed the NK people were mostly placated. Even small events are unanticipated.
The hell is your problem? I did read the thread, I honestly didn't expect any type of social conflict whatsoever. I'd assumed the NK people were mostly placated.
