21 gang members killed. 21 people who signed up knowing what they were doing. this is like the whole army thing. they all think they are a super soldier that can do anything/immortal, then they get back from their tour so fucking surprized that only 2 of their buddies out of the 15 in their squad are on that plane back.
this discussion is hardly why this thread was made.
All of the victims were believed to be members of the gangs.
Baddies on the baddies, at least no innocents were involved. I can't say I really have much remorse for these men though, they're all killers and kidnappers.
No problem?
Do you really think the people who were around there think that it was "no problem"
besides, a human life is still a human life.
Physically they are human, mentally they are animals.
Like I say in every thread, it isnt the injection, its what has to be done to get it done.
1 little shot of liquid doesnt cost that much unless its some super rare mineral liquid thing.
Also, let them shoot eachother, maybe they will kill eachother off enough so it doesnt need to be dealt with.

They totally signed up right? They didn't get forced into the life or anything like that. They were bored one day and decided to become gangsters.
Physically they are human, mentally they are animals.
If you think that, you're delusional.

Oh yea because they got forced by their brother into a gang. You know damn well if you were in that situation that you would run at the perfect moment in a crowded area, after seeing what kind of violence this is involved in. "But this WAS the first time he saw it!"
It was the first time the native saw the tiger, he didnt know either.

....
You don't grasp the concept of Mexican culture do you?
Family has a -huge- role in it and you never abandon your family.
Not to mention they'd be afraid to just run for it, it would be along the same reason why kidnapped people don't always try to escape. They're afraid the escape might be worse than just sticking with it.
ITT ignorant fucks.

If your stupid enough to stay in a gang just to be with your family, I dont give a rats ass if your killed in gang wars, you had it coming.
Remember, you are the only important person in the world, attachments to people can be nice but end up hurting you when they somehow die or your disconnected.
Yet. And some of those men have families you know?
So? They were scum gang members who's family probably lived off drug money. What the fuck is wrong with you today Facepunch, why so sentimental?

This made me cringe.

It's pretty easy to say that when you're typing on a computer to an internet forum focused on videogames, which is far from a necessity.
The fact that you live such a sheltered life, then criticize people who are born into poverty because they fell victim to a life of crime isn't surprising. It does however prove how apathetic and ignorant you are.
And the war on drugs succeeds again!
GOD BLESS THE U S OF A!

So what if they lived off of drug money?
It's one of the only ways to actually get money down there, if mexico could include drugs into it's GDP, they'd be pretty fucking high on the list.

Were you abused or bullied as a child or something?
How are you this detached to human beings.

oh please get over yourself. i dont even know what point youre trying to prove. that they are somehow less human because they support thier family members through things? joining a gang isnt all bad for them, they know shit like this happens but theres also upsides like money and not starving to death, and knowing that you have a lot of people who have your back because youre on their team. grow up, its not as simple of a decision for them as it is for you to say that gangs are bad. and they are, but from their pespective, its pretty good.

Look, being a moralist gets you nowhere when the subject in question is unchangeable. they died. bam. they are DEAD. now, there are more alive! Fix what you can with whats here.
Learn from the past, act in the present. Your beating a dead horse. endgame is, they were in a gang, which smuggled humans and drugs, both of which is illegal, but is competitive. these gangs will shoot on spot to just make more profit. these men are promised high rewards, while the only one living and making the money are the man in power, and the recruiter.

Detached? Im not detached, I love my friends, family, and most people who arent assholes, or confined by stupidity/not wanting to see the truth (BurnEmDown)
Making friendships can advance you both, and can give you that fuzzy feeling inside. Risking your life for this person, or goals, can be worth it, but only when you aren't DESTINED to die soon in such of the way of these gangs.

I never said they are less of a human, they are as human as you or I, its the decisions and risks that you take that shape your world. Sometimes even with such high payoffs, the risk simply can get too high to be reasonable.

This is 2 rival gangs shooting each other.
It has nothing to do with the US or the War on Drugs.

they were fighting over grounds on which to smuggle drugs into the usa. its pretty clear that this is extremely relevant.

Who's likely to survive in a drug-legalized environment?
Constantly hunted gangs tearing each other apart or gigantic business conglomerate with billions at its disposal.

This.

Haha yeah... What was I thinking? It's obviously irrelevant seeing as this had nothing to do with smuggling illegal drugs into the US of A.
Drugs made illegal by the US of A's war on drugs btw.

both of those kinda scare me when its left to either of them to deal drugs
Nevermind Kybalt already said it :(

he also broke my automerge but whatever

at least with the corporation you'd be fairly certain it isn't something that's going to kill you. (when done responsibly)
at least with the corporation you'd be fairly certain it isn't something that's going to kill you. (when done responsibly)
only so that they can keep you alive as a customer.
at least with the (legit)corporations, we can be informed about the dangers and benefits of drugs. Not just the ignorant fear mongering babble that the government spews out in schools.
Also ^^^
only so that they can keep you alive as a customer.
Also to not get sued and fall into the abyss of failed corporations.
Look, being a moralist gets you nowhere when the subject in question is unchangeable. they died. bam. they are DEAD. now, there are more alive! Fix what you can with whats here.

Causing commotion about an event stops it from getting repeated in the future, which I shouldn't have to say since it specifically says to learn from the past and act now in your post. The more we criticize the government the more likely they are to change things.
And no, that isn't really the endgame, everyone on this forum was likely born in privileged conditions, so excuse me if I'm suspicious if multiple people claim they can handle the pressure of living in the middle of a drug war. People in these situations are usually born in poverty, they don't have the prior knowledge you have and when you're in tough shit like this you're gonna' be closer to your family than ever. I don't deny that these men are responsible for their actions, but no human being should have to choose between living in a shitstorm or living in a shitstorm.

These men were taking risks to support themselves and their family, albeit misguided efforts. They can't predict their destiny, but what they do know is that they can make a buck.

It's easier to regulate one than the other.
That's a surprisingly large amount of people. Usually they just shoot at each other for half an hour, hitting maybe one or two people (usually civilians) and then flee.
ITT: People justify violence because of culture, and argue about non-topic occurrences.
