Guest starring Christopher Walken as Charmeleon.
Making a CG film would be a better move.

welp
when the U.S. MARINES post stuff about it, you can tell it's most certainly popular :v:
pikachu is working with the fucking feds
Can you imagine how jarring a live action Pokemon film would be? CG is the only way this could ever be done without traumatizing the majority of your audience with out of place CG Mew Twos
Mew would be just as bad if they did throw out the Ken Sugimori art-style (which is almost a certainty), it's partially based on an embryo.
Watch it be directed/produced by Michael Bay or some shit

"No Mr. Bay. Not every Pokemon knows self destruct and explosion."
Just watch

Way better
But the tv show continuity is garbage
There's a good reason the 14 sequels weren't released in theatres like the first (two?) were

If anything a continuation of Origins would be better

Someone clearly hasn't watched xy. Though the English dub ruins everything about it.
All the movies suck so that point is irrelevant
If they're moving with a Pokemon film, I kinda hope it's set within the same continuity as the TV show.
The TV show barely has any continuity. Ash has been 10 for almost 20 years already, and major characters come every season and then disappear never to be seen again.
I'd rather have an entirely new thing like Pokemon Origins
The fact that if they choose the anime continuity over the game series one would be headache inducing and further give the image that's all what people care about, forgetting that the latter exists.

Yeah the movies are bad that's what I mean and what matters
I also don't care for the show, including XY I briefly watched. I'm not gonna watch a Pokemon sub lol. If there was a theatre release 4kids dub would be unavoidable anyway

I stop enjoying the show after gen 2 on rewatch
But gen 3 movies are ok I guess

I have yet to see anything (besides origins) beat the mewtwo "first Pokemon movie", especially uncut

The original Japanese version of the first movie is actually pretty decent. It doesn't have a lot of the weird localization-isms the English version does, and the story is slightly different.
Also 4kids hasn't done anything Pokemon related in about a decade. The Pokemon Company does their own dubs now.
I was giving the first movie praise, I think even the american version is solid. I'm aware of the cut scenes, I think they were even still recorded in english and you can find them

One of the glaring issues is outlined by Nostalgia Critic (he hates it because he was one of those contrarians that dislike pokemon) but he bitched about the crying back to life thing being stupid and abrupt, which was explained in one of the darker scenes that got cut
Screw live-action
Keep it animated
This can only turn out naturally: Bomb so hard that it sends movie games back 20 more years.
"bomb" no way
Be incredibly average/mediocre? Maybe.
But there's no way the movie wouldn't make a shitton

the whole reason this is being offered is because they put out a phone app with a gps map gimmick and suddenly the company became 7.5 billion dollars more valuable
It ~could~ work and I'm interested enough to see how it'd end up but its not like they could do worse than the official movies.
