wtf.. is there ANYTHING police do thats not shooting people?
shitheads.
We hear more about officers screwing up because some people love to find reasons to hate authority. But yeah, there's much more to the police than just walking around with a gun and a badge. See above posts.
I'm gonna go with Doriol and say you're from Redneckville, USA. What kind of shitty cop always shoots to kill? There's a fucking justice system for a reason, cops aren't at free to gun down anyone they think is a minor threat. There's a reason cops are equipped with less-than-lethal weaponry.
If they think he was going for a gun, then they full reason to shoot him. I think the cops did the right thing, as morally questionable as it seems, but the entire reason why this happened, as in, weed being illegal, is fucking retarded. No one here should be pissed off at the cops.
That poor unborn child.
God your dumb. You are worse than the people that generalize religious people and people of different color.
Yes but sometimes "lethal weaponry" is required. Especially when the other person may or may not have a gun. You keep down playing his alleged movements as if they are nothing. You don't know what he is doing, he could be pulling out a gun, so it's no "minor threat", especially when your heart is beating 200 bpm and you have enough adrenaline in you to lift a car.
...you really don't get the point of LTL weapons, do you? That's exactly why he would use them, if he looks like he's gonna pose a threat. You use a gun if someone already has a gun out, you use a taser if it looks like he's going for a gun. You don't just assume "well durp he's pullin a gun out time to shoot him in the head". And don't give me the adrenaline bullshit, cops are specifically trained (i hope) to deal with high risk and heart pounding situations. There's a reason why being a cop takes quite a bit of training. What the hell would you define a minor threat as, then, if not a man already at gunpoint?
EDIT:
According to reports, Cole’s 20-year-old fiancé, Sequioa Pearce—who is 9 months pregnant—was forced to kneel and held at gunpoint in the moments just before Cole was shot.
This makes it seem less like they were storming in and they shot him right as he was going for a gun, and more like they had the situation under control and the cop was just a fucking moron. If they're in the position to have his fiance at gunpoint, i'd imagine they're in the position to have him at gunpoint too, and ideally in handcuffs.

wow.....irony much???? hopy shit
Yes there is. The cops do a lot, and prevent a lot of crime, and deal with a lot of shit that no one ever hears of because it isn't fucking news worthy. Then some one dumb ass cop out of the hundreds of thousands of cops does something bad and instantly the entire police force get's demonized by someone on an internet forum who doesn't know shit.
you just dont understand
Talk about police brutality...
None of you were there so quit playing the race card and assuming this was just a cop executing a black man for the hell of it, when all you have to go by is a tiny little blurb that has no evidence to support that.
I'll wait for more information about this before making a statement as idiotic as "To Serve and Protect White People"

This is why cops are quick to react when they see someone making a movement at them.

It's funny because people like you will be the first one crying for the police to come save you if you were in danger.

Cop has guy at gunpoint. Guy goes for something. Cop drops his gun and goes to pull out his taser. Okay. That makes PERFECT sense.
Having a reason does not justify this sort of thing, especially when it's a really dumb reason.
Sorry about that, massive grammatical confusion. Ignore that comment.
This is fucking terrible. I just can't find the words how bad I feel after reading this. :smith:

This isn't even a situation where he should have him at gunpoint, it sounds like he was already subdued. And fine, no taser. There's still the option of shooting to incapacitate. You shoot to kill a serial killer or a rapist on the run, you don't shoot to kill a fucking guy being served on a minor drug warrant.

Tell me how to shoot to incapacitate, successfully bringing the threat down before he can pull up a gun. You'll find that the only way to do that is two to the chest, which will often times kill the person.
Don't try to say "go for the arms", you don't do that, because it is too easy to miss, especially when they are moving around, reaching for a gun.
If he was correctly subdued (Which it says nothing about in the source, you are just trying to cling onto an argument you already lost), then he wouldn't be able to move his arms.

Because grammar reflects intelligence completely right? Not to mention you misspelled "holy"
"you just don't understand", nice reply, you'll get far in this conversation.
Jesus christ this is terrible :(

What is it with cops and killing black people?
FYI, that incident with the Marine, both the cop and the marine were black
Look at the slightly bigger picture here. They wouldn't have been there in the first place if pot was legal.
Wow they go through all this rukus all the time just for a little pot.
Why isn't it legal?
I don't smoke, but shouldn't it be up to the person to make a dumb decision like weed?

That I already lost? Now you're reaching. And idk, i'm not a cop, i'm not trained on how to deal with a suspect, but I know there's ways to do so other than just killing the guy. And no, it doesn't say, but i'm assuming since his wife was apparently held at gunpoint at her knees, they had the situation with the suspect reasonably under control. If he wasn't subdued, then he should have been, and that was just another fuck up on the cop's behalf. In fact, think about it, what possible situation could they have been in where the wife was in that position yet the suspect was still free enough to pose this kind of threat? I can see no way this could have gone that it wouldn't be because of the cop's fuck up.
Oh God, seriously. The baby doesn't even have a father now

Shouldn't you be in OIFY?
You'll find that the only way to do that is two to the chest, which will often times kill the person.
They didn't even have the common courtesy to give him "two to the chest" and provide him with the off-chance of survival if he was brought to immediate medical attention. They shot him right in the face.

He should of been subdued? How should he have been, they just rushed into the appartment, are the officers suppose to snap their fingers and he's in handcuffs?
All you are saying is "well the cops should have found some magical way to make sure the suspect doesn't have a gun"

Again, if they had just rushed into the apartment, they wouldn't have the suspect's fiance at gunpoint on her knees. You don't go in on a bust and subdue everyone but the suspect. And when the fuck did I ever say they should have "found some magical way" to make sure he didn't have a gun? I've clearly made the point that even if he was reaching for a weapon, which was doubtful in this situation, they should have subdued him and not shot him in the head. There have been hundreds of traffic stops where the suspect DID have a weapon, and they subdued him without killing him.
