it requires an extension because only the firefox and opera team are stupid enough to support apng
MNG is only a container for apng(and jng if I recall correctly). Why support a container when you can make people switch to a better browser.
MNG is only a container for apng
it's a container for PNG and JNG. APNG is not an actual format, it's just a hack for PNG that allows multiple frames to be rendered. transparency in BMP is also a hack
the specifications for MNG were released in 2001 while APNGs were released in 2008. the only real advantages APNGs have is a smaller library size (who cares) and backwards compatibility with PNGs (the first frame of an APNG is visible to people using a program without APNG support)
I loved using Chrome, but I felt uncomfortable having the Google Corporation breathing down my back. Is there any way to disable that?
just use chromium, all chrome is is chromium with some google tech integrated and an autoupdater

PNG also has the advantage of already being supported by several browsers.
What advantages does MNG have?
ITT: chrome and opera are hipster apple faggots
APNG is only supported by two browsers
...it's an actual thing?
APNG isn't? Elaborate please.
APNG is only supported by two browsers
MNG is supported by no browsers (except with addons).

If it wasn't for america your "country" would be a hole in the ground.
since most people use IE then it will have the widest variety of users, hence IQs will be closer to the world average
[editline]30th July 2011[/editline]
fucking
But the world average is 100, not 80 :v:
And by that theory then Firefox and Chrome users would be closer to the world average since they're somewhere in-between 100-120
Did APNGs kill Sanius's family or something?
What about the people who use Mac and IE? Does that make us doubly dumb?
Subtraction multiplied by subtraction equals addition
It makes you smart as fuck.

There's no need to use another browser.
the specifications for MNG were released in 2001 while APNGs were released in 2008. the only real advantages APNGs have is a smaller library size (who cares)
Not just smaller library size, but simplicity. That Chrome extension is based on simple apng-parser.js which is only 8kb. No way it would be possible for MNG.
Besides, MNG developers abandoned the format years ago. Once they had the idea to release a simplified version and call it MNG 2.0 but gave up due to lack of enthusiasm.
It's hard to care for MNG when even MNG developers don't care for it anymore.
I didn't even know what MNG was before reading this thread.
I'd like to stand proud for a moment, because my grandparents ditched IE for Firefox on their own accord around a year after getting a new PC. They're in their 70s.
whole family uses firefox, i use chrome only because i like the gui.
i dont really give a shit about your html's and your amng's or whatever the fuck
I'm cool with APNG. Anything but GIF please.
Opera isn't even bad, what are you talking about?
Opera isn't up to date with most css standards :colbert:
Opera isn't up to date with most css standards :colbert:
[citation needed], or it's bullshit.
I don't see how this is a surprise.
Of course the idiots aren't going to try to look for a better product than what is default...
Users of Internet Explorer 6, released in 2001, scored the lowest on the tests, at just over 80.
As I said, blip.tv ads still show up with Chrome AdBlock enabled :smug:

Firefox is dumb to have high memory leaks and crashing.
dont understand the firefox hype, takes over 15 minutes (not exaggerating) to load up for the first time while chrome takes about 30 seconds. Chrome rarely crashes for me either, while firefox used to crash if i went on facebook or a website with too many images.

Oh there you are, I was wondering when you were going to reply to my post on the top of this page.
It doesn't really matter what browser someone uses. I like the benefits of certain browsers, but I won't give a fuck if a friend uses IE. Now Safari is another matter.
Edit: ASDASDASG IE IS TERRIBLE I READ THE THREAD
