i'd rather wait two weeks than never get the game at all
Be happy that we're waiting 2 weeks unnecessarily because of some bullshit about piracy and people double dipping? It's greedy and it's wrong, especially for a game like this.
blame microsoft and sony. konami is contractually obliged to release earlier on consoles theyve made deals with.

Why does it have to be one extreme or the other? Why can't it just "release simultaneously" and not do this scummy double dipping crap?

I've never seen a contract like that outside of brand deals for one particular platform. It doesn't make sense. Why would Sony and Microsoft work together in order to prevent a user base that often doesn't even intersect with their own from playing a third party title? This is Konami's executive meddling at work.
I'm buying the Collector's Edition as soon as I can, I've been waiting for his thing to come out just for the arm.
Shoulda come with Snake's watch instead of his arm.
Shoulda come with Snake's watch instead of his arm.
I wish. Those watches sell for like $800 in good condition because of the association with James Bond. It's even more valuable now.

The worst thing is, people buy into it and actively defend such practices saying that the two weeks will contribute to a significantly better game.
I'm grateful that KojiPro considered a PC version, since they are a Japanese developer. However, I am a customer at the end of the day and anti-consumer practices need to be called out. As a customer, you should be livid. This delay is artificial and it will result in the game being ruined for a lot of people.
Please state where Kojima said it will be getting delayed due to piracy claims because it sounds like you pulling that fact out your ass. I'm pissed that it isn't coming to pc on the same date either, but I'm not going to accuse them of things because of it.

It's common industry practice and that is the justification behind it in the minds of publishers. If it isn't for double dipping and piracy, explain why there's a two week delay. A month or two could be explained but two weeks is blatantly "we're trying to avoid day one piracy and get people to buy twice" as seen with Arkham Asylum, Max Payne 3, Dark Souls 2 and now this.
Is there a place where I can pre-order?
MGS is one of those series I wouldn't mind buying the game twice for.
That collectors edition is nice as well, plus it will mean I'll have nearly all the other games on Playstation (save for GZ).
Is there a place where I can pre-order?
Yeah I assume it'll appear on game and such to pre-order after everyone knows about it, but just now it doesn't seem to have a link.

And partially the reason the wait is so low is because they know people will not want to be spoiled. there really is no way of knowing yet.

But you see, the game is still 6 months away, and they knew about the PC version from the start. I wouldn't think they'd be this incompetent to forget to do all those PC related things until the last moment. And even then it's a 2 week delay, which is so small that it seems highly improbable that there's a lot of things that have to be taken care of that can be done in 6 months and 2 weeks but not in 6 months.

All which could easily be dealt with considering the insider has confirmed the game is done and is only being pushed past June so Konami can promote it. Also its not looking like they're even doing a physical copy of the game in any region so far. It took GZ a really long time to get a physical release on PC in Russia and India.
Regardless, two weeks is nothing for any of those issues you addressed above. Xbox sales have been absolutely terrible and PC sales have been significantly better than expected. Why is the PC being treated as a second class platform again? If it's about server maintenance and not having too much on their plate for one day, shouldn't the more popular platform get preference?
If MGO is the issue, which I'm kind of suspecting, I wish they'd take the Rockstar route and roll it out after a week or two when everyone has played the single player game.
An accompanying iDROID app will allow players to manage their Mother Base and its development
Will I have to get a smartphone for this?
Will I have to get a smartphone for this?
yes, or a tablet.
This might be the first game I've bought within a week of it's release date in a while. Going to wait for the first couple of reviews to come out to see how the PC version fairs. But I will be avoiding all the obvious places for plot spoilers.
I still need to complete the GZ missions with S rank and actually play Peace Walker.
Hell, I might just replay all the games if possible before this comes out.
I am definitely getting that collectors edition, then I'll buy the game again on Steam. I have a bank account specifically reserved for buying Phantom Pain I don't care.
Whelp, not wanting to buy a whole console for one game + my MGS friends who will undoubtably do so if they don't have one already, there's abselutely no way I'll go unspoiled. RIP :(

Anyone else think the price is a bit fucked up?
US$ 59.99 / €69.99 (Digital)
More expensive in Europe, really backwards.
Two week delay isn't that bad for a PC version. Looking at you, Rockstar...
I'm pumped, everything I read indicated that Ground Zeros was an extremely good PC port.
Fucking shields. Fucking. Shields.
Is there no way to contact Konami and explain why it's such a stupid fucking idea to release a story driven game on a fresh platform two fucking weeks in? I feel like despite all their promises, we're being punished yet again for being PC owners. I'm very disappointed.

konami has a developed history of ignoring any of its western customers

not that i really care about two weeks. MGS V PC went from 'non existant' to 'maybe' to 'it's coming, but we haven't said when'

Be happy it's coming to PC at all.

we aren't really being punished, at least if you're able to avoid stuff. i've been able to avoid GTAV spoilers for 2 years, barring a couple things that caused controversy and were plastered all over the news (you know the one,) so as long as you play it safe, don't have asshole friends who spoil it, and don't go out of your way to find spoilers you'll be fine.

I had one of the GTA spoilers [sp](Where you choose someone to kill is all I'm gonna say)[/sp] ruined for me on the first day of it's release because someone posted a picture of it in the LMAO pics thread. I was hoping to wait for the PC release for it.
Then I kept hearing the same fucking spoiler all the place wherever I travelled by school kids. It was inevitable I suppose.
