COD2, COD4, MW2, WAW were only good COD's for my opinion.

MW2 was already exploring in the shit territory because the the solo campaign was awfully short, ended on a cliffhanger and the multiplayer was nothing short of an unbalanced clusterfucker. It also started most of the gimmicks that are still here after two other games and will probably stay afterward such as having the hero dying, QTE ending and techno-bullshit all over the place.
speaking of bf3 and cod, my friend bought bf3 and played it for a while.
then he gets bored and buys mw3 and plays that for a while.
And then, he comes back to play black ops with me. most satisfying "I told you so" ever.
I don't really have a problem with companies making new game more frequent, but for gods sake they should leave someone behind to fix and maintain the new games. just look at MoH 2010 and bc2
I don't see how they can continue off of MW3's story considering it's ending. Hopefully they'll start with a new set of characters
Well MW3 was by Infinity ward (And sledgehammer), and this is by Treyarch, they both follow different stories, so even if MW3 was left on a cliffhanger, Treyarch wouldn't continue it.
I actually think WaW and Blops are better than MW2/3, at least Treyarch tried different settings instead of Modern Warfare.
Do you normally get this angry about video games or....?
So the games would be better if they used a different engine? What an arbitrary and illogical notion. The engine they have has been praised by the players and by the developers. It's lightweight, easy to work with, and runs on everything.
In fact the last thing I'd change about a CoD game is the engine.
Lightweight? Pffffffffffft. Hahahahaha. It's a fucking fat whore for disk space.

You're kidding right ? It's a heavy engine you can very easily fuck up badly and that is seriously starting to get old. Absolutely no change was made since call of duty 4 engine-wise and it can really be seen. And before you get to the good old "valve also uses the same engine for all its games", I'll point out that valve updates their engine for almost every single game that comes out (half life source being I think the only exception)
Half-Life Source was just a demonstration on how easily you can port content from GoldSrc to Source.

Not only that but almost every game I have runs better on my computer than Call of Duty.

Black ops is an abomination on PC. My computer can run metro 2033, crysis 2, far cry 2 and even fucking battlefield 3 ultra smoothly but black ops runs like shit.
Does anyone remember when a bunch of players sued Activision for selling a non-working game ?
I don't dislike any CoD except MW3.
That game sucked. Hard.
It would be really cool if they actually did do something innovative, isn't that much you can do to an FPS though, without changing the whole scheme of the series
All I want is quickscoping :3
[editline]13th February 2012[/editline]
And trickshotting :33

Please no. I would just fucking love if Treyarch decides to keep their look on Quickscoping and shit like that from Black Ops: Just change Snipers to completely stop it. It still happens but it's not as bad as MW2 and MW3 dear god the horror
open world campaign plz
and RPG elements1111 (they were getting into that somewhat with MW3)
Also I just love noobtuubing and defending stuff at corners with Ghost PRO and with motionsensor! :)
GTFO
I took my time with it, didn't rush through the gameplay. I got 8 and a half hours in it.
Because the characters had 2 games to develop. Assassin's creed had little character development for Ezio because he had 2 games already to develop. My point is, if they're already deeply entwined into the story, why should it be bad? Also, there was character development with Wallcroft, Yuri, antagonist CD with Makarov, and the Delta Force team.
MW3 had these. the entire first mission in Germany was the US army invading Russian occupied Germany. It was a massive battle.
Yeah, but you don't go back to Nikolai's base. There are certain missions where you start out in the middle of things.
Well it's in WaW's single and multiplayer.
Uh, did you NOT play the game? It's explained. Like 3 times.
Okay, fair enough on your last point. HOWEVER, can you really fit CoD's style and engine into a grand scale shooter? No, it's too focused on squad combat.
[editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
uh no, that wasn't my point at all. How the hell did you manage to mistake that? He was saying how they don't make improvements. I was asking him what improvements are there to be made that aren't already being made.
Again, SHOW ME what parts are so horrendous that the game series shouldn't exist.
Yet again GTFO!!!!!!
open world campaign plz

I wonder if this will sell, well since the new MW2 patch called "MW3" that failed hard.
Still plays on my lovely old Xbox <3
Activision reported sales figures for Modern Warfare 3 in the US and UK being more than 6.5 million copies sold on launch day and grossed $400 million in the US and UK alone in its first 24 hours, making it the biggest entertainment launch of all time
Note quite.
Fun fact: MW3 added $50 million to Black Ops sales, which itself added $50 million to MW2 sales.
The idea that they need to innovate with their next release is kind of defeated by statistical information (that sales increase as they release similar sequels) and shows that they may be genuinely interested in taking the series to a new place this year.
WaW was great and different
WaW was a glorified mod. Treyarch is a glorified mod team, which would make them impressive if they were supposed to make mods, not games.
Instead of using a *heavily modified* Quake 3 engine, it will use a *heavily modified* Unreal Engine 1.
i don't even hate cod, i prefer mw2 of the recent ones, but even then, the playerbase is dying just because they keep fucking releasing them
Every release breaks the sales record of the last one, I really don't think it'll be dying anytime soon.
You guys hate so much the 1337 quickscoping wannabe kids when you rather wanna get
shot by hardscoper that shoots acrossmap and sits there the whole game.
[editline]15th February 2012[/editline]
That second one takes a lot of skill and patience, but its booring as fck and I think game should be
fun and who ever buys the game can play it the way they wanna and I dont give a fck about what you
like someone does or doesnt do in a game, I guess you all are ak74u rush fags. No offense

Maybe, after CoD dies, treyarch will remember the past and make a good spiderman game... one can hope (single semi-manly tear)
Call of Duty wasn't the same after CoD 3
CoD 3 had cars, motorcycles, tanks, ammo dropping support classes, real medics, and medium/big sized maps.
Epic moments where you shot a rifle grenade into a car moving towards you, making it flip right over you.
Last good CoD game IMO, although CoD 4 was kinda cool too.
I'm really over the CoD hate. I know it sounds hard to believe that a company releasing the exact same game for 5 years straight could possibly innovate, but with a company smart enough to milk out millions from their fanbase and keep a majority of the fanbase happy at the same time, I believe they're smart enough to start actually change things up a bit.

If you're gonna troll at least put some effort into it

Who said he's trolling, he might actually like doing that.
