Damn, everyone forgets this is Treyarch making this game. They haven't failed me yet at least. WaW was great and different, although it was also WWII. Black Ops was something completely knew, being in the cold war. I had a boat load of fun with it. Wager matches, they brought zombies back, 24/7 playlists, etc. I'm with some of you, I hope they don't make a re-hashed version of black ops just like IW did with MW3 from MW2. But I mean, Treyarch seems to be the good guys in my opinion. Hell, they're STILL updating stuff in Black Ops. Right now (entire weekend long) it's Firing Range 24/7 and double XP. That's awesome that whilst being busy with Black Ops 2 (supposedly), they still take the time to look out for their consumers in Black Ops. 400,000 people were playing Black Ops the other day, people are leaving MW3 and going back believe it or not. I'm guilty of it on a couple accounts. I've got high hopes for Treyarch with this game, but of course you'll never know until you see the full game, or even a beta hopefully. I doubt it though.
Remember, this isn't Infinity Ward...
Treyarch can actually make a pretty decent game, really. WaW actually pretty much nailed the situations the Russian and German soldiers were in, since that one guy (can't remember his name) really disagrees with Reznov when he's all like "the Germans are pigs, kill them all in the most horrible way possible", then the other guy begins to doubt Petrenko's a good person if he kills the defenseless Germans.
I think, if they could include more things like that, that can potentially make a smarter player think, it could have a pretty affecting story.
I think they should just let Treyarch do all the innovation and leave IW to continue milking CoD 4 to death until their studio dies.
I bet 500 million space dollars that it will involve Iran.
Hopefully CS:GO will annihilate it.
as if

black ops had a great story
still boring as hell to play though
It'll probably be like Apples innovation. Take old ideas and slap their sticker on it
A new game in the series every year.. This has to stop. What's the point of the previous titles if you're just going to announce a new one a few months after its release? It makes your investment and game feel pointless, but knowing the typical audience of Call of Duty, this concept doesn't cross their mind.
New Weapon: Rat Cage: releases a small, invincible, invisible rat that chases after enemy players. Once it reaches them, the player has to do a quicktime event of pressing random buttons in quarter-second intervals, and if they fail, zombified Koreans, Russians and Cubans will pop up from underground and kill them.
Wait
that would actually be hilarious
nevermind, add that to the game
[editline]Modern Battlefield: Master Sergeant Shooter Person[/editline]
Wait, I just realized (read: searched and found out) that the rat QTE was in Battlefield, not MW
My mistake
not like they're that different anyway
And I still want that rat weapon
I remember the old days when the Call of Duty series was produced with effort, didn't have fucking 13-year-olds running all over the place, and was genuinely entertaining and enjoyable to play.

Awwww yeaahh...
I say we have a FP Call of Duty 2 Server. To bring everyone back to COD 2. or United Offensive..Vehicles
Please have 4-player campaign co-op. That would be the main selling point for me.

It's clearly about money... But that's also why developers switch off every other year. So you won't see MW2 release, then MW3 come out 12 months later.
With all the money they milked you'd think they had a super secret project with ultimate new physics, animations, sounds, etc. but sadly they are just plain fucking greedy.

I swear I feel that it's only IW who're milking it. Treyarch has made some pretty decent games.

Well, compared to recent games, yeah. I mean, it actually did something, it didn't work particularly well, but it wasn't godawful.
It's like a guy that decides to get up out of his weelchair and breaks an ankle. At least he was confident enough to try.

what didn't work for you?

Yeah, I know, that's the whole purpose of being in the game industry. Making money. But the least they could do is give their gamers and developers chance to recuperate from the latest title, without having to announce a new one is coming almost immediately.
There should always be at least a standard year before you announce a new game in the series, not four or five months after the current release. It gives the gamers more time to enjoy the current title, and it's also easier on the developers themselves because they don't have to work on the newer title in such short notice, and pump out of another title in the series in such a short period of time. I imagine the more time a developer is given time to work on a game, the better potential it has to be (Not always though).
Treyarch makes good call of dutys, I am still playing black ops instead MW3.. I was stupid enough to get MW3 because I was bored and havent played it again.
Zombies is nice, combat training against bots and the overrall feel is so much better than the games Infinity ward makes.
Black Ops was actually different and interesting with all the science fiction they added into it.
Clearly, the next CoD game by Treyarch will be Call of Duty: Futuristic Warfare 3012
Also Treyarch will make a mistake if they don't add in Zombies again.
black ops had a great story
I tried playing it, and most of the time I had no idea what the fuck was going on because it was such a clusterfuck of explosions and shit like that, I was just confusedly wandering around and shooting people
Call of Duty is a goldmine, of course they should make more and more and more and more and more and more and more andmoee adnmroe danf more and more amde more ande maoreeeee gyagsiuygtrdfgupdofgjvjbs
what didn't work for you?
Well the whole scizhophrenia thing was sorta obvious to me.
I'd much rather play the older Call of Duty games. Even the Medal of Honor Allied Assault box set I have has more playability than the newer enhanced games.

Yep. I remember when Black Ops was at its prime (before MW3, of course) and I always said "I Fucking hate this game! When MW3 comes out, I'm breaking it!!!!" MW3 comes out, and I go back to Black Ops. I say that with every CoD too. I feel like MW3 just failed though. Not in every single aspect, but overall. I was hating it within only 1 month of having it. I've never felt that way about a CoD so soon. It took me at least a few months with other CoDs to feel that way. But yet, I still played them cause they were fun. I take 2 to 3 day breaks from MW3 very often.
"Full of innovation"?
They wish.

Isn't it a pretty bad sign when you only start liking a game when it's compared to an even shittier piece of shit

I didn't like that part. Felt kind of bad for them dying no matter what.
