New CoD confirmed, Activision claims it will be "Full Of Innovation"

Guys, guys, it was just a spelling mistake. They meant full of imitation.
I didn't like that part. Felt kind of bad for them dying no matter what.
Yeah, it kinda put things into perspective a bit. The Germans were incredibly scared of you, and you'd just spent the last few hours killing them by the hundreds.
Then Reznov's asking you to throw a molotov at them and let them burn, and it kinda makes you consider all the other times you've used them on tanks and such.

How about making it WWI?
That's unexplored territory.

But then there'd only be a few automatic weapons that'd jam frequently, and no kiddie wants to actually aim.
inb4 call of duty: falklands
I remember the old days when the Call of Duty series was produced with effort, didn't have fucking 13-year-olds running all over the place, and was genuinely entertaining and enjoyable to play.

I love how the guy's first reaction to the enemy aircraft inbound was to shoot down the escort fighters who flew off to intercept them :P
I tried playing it, and most of the time I had no idea what the fuck was going on because it was such a clusterfuck of explosions and shit like that, I was just confusedly wandering around and shooting people
wandering around and shooting people is what a shooter's primary gameplay is based around.
most of the development of the story is within the cutscenes and non-combat sections which you wouldn't have seen when all that you got to experience was the explosions and the shooting.
Well the whole scizhophrenia thing was sorta obvious to me.
what do you mean? i think they did a great job of keeping it subtle until it started to really reveal it.

this was said in the game, yes.
the emphasis on the line would have been easily understood after realizing the situation you were in throughout the whole game.
what do you mean? i think they did a great job of keeping it subtle until it started to really reveal it
If you listen closely you can get a lot of heavy hints towards it. Bowman's all like "what're you doing Mason" right after you meet Reznov, and that other dude asks the same things in the tunnels.
I actually liked blackops for its new features and customization. It kept me entertained for a couple of months.
I do agree that Black Ops was the best in the quality and the quantity of content in comparison to MW2 and MW3.
To be honest I like Treyarch COD games far more than IW after COD4 although I don't expect this to bring anything new to the table aside from gimmicky shit with some of it ending up being cool
For fuck sakes, not even 3 months in and they're already confirming the next game? Fucking hell I hate this game

But I still didn't have any idea what was going on and where I was going. I kept hearing some asshole tell me to go somewhere and I had no idea what the fuck they were talking about. The game tried to keep me in a perpetual state of tenseness and extreme action, and as a result I was confused and exhausted mentally.
Unless the next Call of Duty is set on the Solar Frontier, requires cooperation and teamwork in order to succeed, and has a substantial cooperative experience instead of just candy-machine multiplayer, it's not gonna be all that innovative.
But then again, what IS innovation? Most things have already been done, we can only really make changes and iterations on the vast assortment of tropes, gameplay mechanics, settings, etc, that have already been done, and put them together in different ways, in the hopes that we make something that is truly fun and engaging to the true gaming race as opposed to the pseudo-casual amoebas that blindly crawl towards the rotting fish carcass that is Call of Duty.

They've done the same thing the past 3 years.
Innovation.
They're going to take CoD to space aren't they?
Innovation.

they already did that with Moon
that's so full of shit

i didn't really identify the lines of dialogue as heavy hints.
even without the initial mystery of mason's little problem, you didn't have any interest toward why you were [sp]seeing reznov in the first place[/sp]?

where you are going and what you are doing is explained in the opening/loading scenes to each mission. it has been like this in every cod game.
if you had no knowledge about world war two at all, and you were playing the normandy beach mission in call of duty 2, and you didn't pay attention to the cutscene, would you know what country you were in and why? or what your goal would be after climbing up the cliffs?
Only 3 things will make me consider buying the game:
• Naval-based Warfare
• Zombies return
• Co-op mode
if it isn't based around the story of a single character and it's back to larger scale combat, i'm sure we can expect coop and zombies from treyarch.

I think they mean "innovation" in the sense of "we're going to actually change the game mechanics" not "we're going to come up with new game mechanics"
They copied the prequel using CTRL+C this time. Now that's innovation!

Telling me that they're going from A to B doesn't give the exact details. When I'm actually out in the map all I know is that the end result will be something or another, without any clue of how I'll get there. I just wander through a fog of enemies in the hopes that I'll arrive at my destination for one moment of clarity and that is not good game design. The entire game needs to make sense, not small sections of it and then a whole bunch of crazy undecipherable shit.

they don't tell you only A and only B. [del]when i'm near an xbox i'll be able to deliver specifics, i don't have the introductory scenes memorized.[/del]
i don't know if i have black ops any more

It's a lot more calm when you're taking a view from behind the action. There's stuff going on there, but a lot of it I didn't notice because I was busy trying not to get shot, and trying to figure out where the fuck enemies were at the same time, since a lot of them blend in with the environment.
I liked black ops better than MW2 actually. Thought it was relatively good. I'd like to see zombies AND a survival mode in the new game but I'm being overly optimistic. I'd also like to see activision keep their promise on this one, but they have a shitty track record with promises.

I did like Black Ops more than the rest of the games.
COD4 is still the best of the MW series though
