String of Arson Attacks on Predominantly Black Churches in 4 Southern States

I don't understand the thought process behind burning black churches. Is the idea that black people are not...allowed to be Christian?
But if they weren't Christian, then you'd just hate them even more for being ~Godless Heathens~ (because let's face it a very specific kind of person makes these attacks)
I guess it's just "here's something precious to the black people let's burn it!!" but it's always so Christianity focused
You're right. Go into a court house and use that logic to try and prove someone guilty. See what a judge tells you. It's not like we already have a problem with people jumping to their own conclusions and being wrong.
Generally the line of thought that takes the least assumptions is the most likely. With the recent racial tensions, which do you genuinely think is more likely?
Option A: A bunch of firefighters went simultaneously nuts and burnt down specifically predominantly black churches so they could get a thrill from putting the fires out, or...
Option B: Racists who feel threatened committed arson against the race they hate.
It's not confirmed, no, but you can very safely assume it's the racists, based on the recent events involving the terrorist attack in Charleston and the subsequent removal of confederate flags from government buildings and marketplaces.

Let's be honest here.
Everyone secretly is assuming it was just swamp gas that caused the fires. That's what could have happened, after all.

Maybe it was alien retro rockets that burnt them down, too. Hey, there's nothing to disprove it yet, you can't call me crazy! :v:

Rarely do people who care about race care deeply enough about religion. IIRC, the KKK is opposed to Catholics as much as blacks.
Essentially race comes before religious matters, despite the fact that Christianity preaches the opposite. Then again, most people ignore the more "love thy neighbor" aspects of Christianity anyway.

Churches are also a place of meeting for communities, a predominately black church makes sense as it would be a excellent meeting place for the black community to gather.

It's a direct attack and threat on the black community specifically. "I hate you enough that I'm willing to destroy your place of worship, threaten your lives, and possibly even kill you" is the message sent by burning down their church, it's unarguably a racist crime.

Well then, gather your evidence and bring it to the police since you know for 100% certainty what happened.

Maybe, instead of aliens, it was a gang of squirrels with flamethrowers. I mean, do you have proof it isn't? it's still entirely possible.

For real though, I didn't specify what I was talking about. All I said was burning black churches is a racist attack. I didn't specifically say these burnings were racist.
That being said, it's still a massive leap of logic to assume it's anything besides a racist attack.
You know, this is a good thing. It's terrible that the churches got burned down, but great that America is finally waking up to the domestic extremism they've tolerated for so long. If the recent events in which the confederate flag is being recognized for the symbol of racism it has become contrive to bring extremist elements of the white supremacist degenerates out of the woodwork, they can finally be exposed and eradicated.
The fact they're actually stooping to burning down churches proves that their days are numbered.
Don't get me wrong, FP. I say its a good thing because that means these assholes can finally be locked away, where they belong, and are no longer a threat to people.
As much as I'd like to see some white supremacist hicks getting mowed down by the police that won't happen they may be assholes but as long as they don't do anything illegal there's nothing the police can really do.
The majority of the racist population is indeed elderly, but I can't tell you how many youths I've seen who hate black people entirely because they "stole my bike once" or some shit.
Racism still lives on in the South, hell it's still going strong in America, and it needs to die as quickly as possible.
It will probably never die but I hope it will eventually reach at least 2%.
What if...the black community leaders burned it down themselves to start a race war? We can't jump to conclusions here guys, also 9/11 was an inside job lmao

I bet you also believe in "hands up don't shoot".
I find it mind boggling how people can claim to be smart and sit on their high horse, yet be ignorant enough to completely miss a simple point of "We shouldn't jump to conclusions before we have more evidence."

I think you're missing the part where nobody said that it definitively is racist crimes.
Seriously, I checked through the thread. One guy said it was "cut and dry", but that's it. Everyone else is saying that it's far more likely that it's racism, you're jumping to the conclusion that it's somehow more likely to be something other then racism, in the south, in a time of racial tension.

Coming from the guy who theorized the culprits were crazed firefighters with a thirst for blood and destruction.
clearly the most likely answer is elephant arson

The thing is while America is unrivaled by any other country in terms of diversity, this same diversity is what causes racist tensions. AFAIK the whole Koreans vs Blacks thing still exists, and the most recent racial conflict to die out that I can recall is "those damn Irish" and that took what, 100 years?
A lot of people align with their own ethnicity and despise other ethnic groups, a lot more than in any other country, even England which I know is having immigration problems, or Japan. We have a lot of work in front of us.

Personally, I think you did it.
I mean, look at your name. What more evidence is needed?

Also I hope you realize what a massive joke you've become in this thread.

please don't tell me that this is meant to be a cautionary tale for why having ethnic diversity is bad or something

It's not. I'm just saying solving this problem is gonna take a long while.
I still run into some people who call me "Chink" lol

Did I say that was my theory? No I did not. I said it is POSSIBLE, just like I also think it's POSSIBLE that it was in fact done by racists. It was in response to someone who said it was "cut and dry a racist attack". There is no evidence supporting any theory yet other than a few assumptions based on what's "more likely".

I don't see how this disproves my point in any way. You can say I've "become a joke" in this thread because I dared to say "I don't know who did it, but maybe it wasn't necessarily a racist organization. We should wait for more evidence before saying for sure." I know society is supposed to have a hate boner for racist groups, but I don't think prematurely blaming them for something they may not have even had a hand in is the right way to go about things. I know logic is hard for you guys, but at least try to think outside of your own biases.

Hey, no need to get upset, we're just proposing the alternative and significantly (to a massive, MASSIVE degree) more likely occurrence that it was a racist hate crime.
So when they catch the guy and he's a racist, would you Toxx yourself to be banned, Silence?
Like, you're calling us illogical, and you're the one saying it could be psychopathic firefighters burning them for fun, or a false flag by people who are against hate groups trying to pin it on them.
Whereas here we are, saying "uh, no, it's pretty much for sure a racist crime". Which is more logical? Racist attacks in a highly racist region during a time of racial tension, or insane firefighters?
tbh I think Silence I Kill You is just trying to draw attention away from himself as the actual culprit of the arsons.
So when they catch the guy and he's a racist, would you Toxx yourself to be banned, Silence?
No, because my point isn't that it's not a racist hate crime. I'm willing to accept what the ACTUAL EVIDENCE says. So far, the only thing we have is that churches have been burned down. Unless the police have released more evidence that I'm not aware of, I'm not comfortable pinning down any particular suspect or motive.

Did I say those were my final 100% definitive suspects and motives? No. You're putting words in my mouth. I said that it's possible, meaning you can't say with absolute 100% certainty it was any particular group for any particular reason. If evidence comes out that it is in fact a racist hate crime, then that's awesome, and I'm 100% fine with that.
We've had so many times of tension recently due to everyone jumping to conclusions BEFORE police release evidence. Excuse me for suggesting people wait for more evidence before making claims.

It was totally firefighters! I bet they took inspiration from the wonderful documentary Four Lions:

You're arguing against something that doesn't exist. I didn't say that you said those were your 100% definitive suspects or motives, and I didn't say that it's 100% definitive that it's a racist crime. I'm saying that it's HIGHLY LIKELY to be a racist crime, and you're being ridiculous for calling us illogical when you're the one theorizing that it MIGHT be insane firefighters or a false flag.

I was never arguing against you. I don't know why we are arguing. I was originally arguing against the guy saying it was cut and dry a racist crime.
In fact, I don't know how me and you got to be arguing with each other when we basically agree that it's highly likely to be a racist crime, although it isn't a 100% certainty. I'm still trying to figure out how this happened....
Your passionate defense of the idea that it quite possibly by some very very very obscure means could be a non-racist crime came off pretty heavily as "I agree with it but can't outright say it" is why I joined in.

Then I apologize for how that came off. I in NO WAY agree with the churches getting burned. I can't even imagine how horrible that is for their congregations, and I hope the true culprit(s) are found and receive justice. It's why I said if it IS a racist organization, that they should be treated as domestic terrorists (beings they would be trying to intimidate people by fear).
