Apparently all of them were found on shoes.. kind of creepy considering I live on the Island where most of them were found.

they would be at first but they would quickly soak up water and become a bit like an anchor to the foot

I have to wonder if the psychopath who did this is trying to gain the same media attention that Luca Magnotta got for the murder of Jun Lee. At least, it seems that way since this case is fairly similar and happened so soon afterwards.
