It's not really relevant to this case, but if the animal dies for food or for any other reason; it's still dead. The issue here isnt the animal dying its the fact that is was tortured and brutally killed for no reason at all. In case you dont know you dense motherfucker, we eat cows, chickens and uhm... frogs to stay alive, like we have always done since the beginning of time when animals were created. Im not saying killing animals is wrong, its the torture that im talking about.

"we're just better than animals", which doesn't even make sense as a counter argument. That means you think we are not better and more sophisticated than animals. We were/are the Number 1 Race on this planet. We eat animals for food, just like a Snake eats a mouse or a cheetah a buffalo. You dont see a lion rip off a deers leg, let it sit there and suffer. No, it eats the damn thing.

I'm saying your point isn't relevant to my point. I was saying ethically, empathetically, why would something (cow/sheep/pig) prefer to die as a food source compared to just dying. To which you respond, because humans are better. Thinking empathetically would you be cool with dying to a superior species for food?

Self awareness requires a very high level of intelligence. Rodents, such as hamsters, lack this because their brain has not evolved to a point where it is so.
