easier to hit a group of people than a single person
Not if you aren't paying attention. The shooter wasn't ready for the first guy, but the next guy he was.
Is it just me or they don't run at their top speed? You surely would run faster than that if wild dog was chasing you
I heard about 5 consecutive shots, I don't think he was hit 5 times. I know its possible with a rifle such as the SVD but its kind of far fetched. Then you could hear follow up automatic fire. I would put my bets on a rifleman killing him, but I don't don't think its logical to make assumptions on this since it could have just as easily been done with any assault rifle. It sounded very close though.
He was hit with the first 3 and the last 2 seemed to hit the wall behind him after he made it to cover. Either it was a very lucky soldier with an AK, or a pretty good designated marksmen. Looks like the other rounds fired were from the FSA soldiers with the reporter. Either way it sucks that another reporter was killed. This war needs to end already.
NSFW okay, but not graphic to be exact.
A guy dies
this video is very controversial. all they gave the guy was an al-jazeera logo and told him 'best of luck'. despicable. this is exactly what the revolution needs, more people thinking assad is a blood thirsty asshole. meanwhile nobody knows who it really was who "killed" that reporter. meanwhile when the associated press caught wind of this, they reported that "It is not exactly clear how he was killed, but it seems like he entered a very dangerous street where the army and pro-regime militia were positioned," he said." this is just more propaganda from the saudis. notice in the video you don't actually see him get hit, he kinda just drops. i also didn't see and blood ANYWHERE. not to mention none of these guys said one snackbar (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Swebonny))

It's not like it is in hollywood movies where when the bad guy or good guy gets hit blood just starts spurting out all over the place. The video cut out and was too far away for you to be able to see any noticeable bleeding.
Okay, if you've honestly seen someone shot from that distance, and I hope you never will, it's not a blood pouring massacre of gore like Fallout.

aaannnnnnd end thread.
NSFW okay, but not graphic to be exact.
You don't need to have organs being ripped clean out of someone and blood pissing over the ground for it to be graphic, the guy just got fucking shot three times and you watched the beginning of his death, pretty fucking graphic mate.
A guy dies
Doesn't the title make that obvious anyway? Whatever, dumb things to do arguments about
easier to hit a group of people than a single person
He probably didn't see the first guy until he was almost there and didn't have a shot, however he was waiting for the next guy which was unfortunately the journalist.
That definately striked me hard.. Disturbing as damn..
The video cut out and was too far away for you to be able to see any noticeable bleeding.
And you don't find this peculiar? considering they just made a martyr out of him, like the rest of the journalists (NSFW)

admitted troll, report and move along.
Why do most people automatically think that "sniper" means this: [t]http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_femhrxbNtS0/S-6Uxyo0Z1I/AAAAAAAAFyI/5QBneRPPk6g/s1600/Sniper_rifle.jpg[/t] when in most cases a sniper is simply a long range marksman in an appropriate position.
Generally improving it. Automatic fire = less accurate
This is what happens when you get your gun knowledge from games :v:
I really don't know where these guys find the guts to run around through places like that. Would be great if they didn't have to.
This is what happens when you get your gun knowledge from games :v:
No actually, automatic fire at medium-long range is typically not very deadly because it's so inaccurate. It's mostly used for suppression. Since the Syrian regime is most likely using a dozen different AK variants which are not inherently accurate, so they are very hard to control when automatic. Spraying automatic fire at a moving targets at range increases your chances of hitting it. More lead down range-more chances of hitting targets. It's better to use semi auto for stationary targets though.

The only limit is the shooter's ability. Automatic fire is a different piece of pie all-together and is useless at long range past the first bullet with any small arm.
I've always been wondering, and I got into a tiny dispute about this, in games when you shoot sniper rifles while moving, typically the bullet goes somewhere completely fucking retarded and outlandish. In real life, do guns shoot more or less in a straight line, and the only inaccuracy is from gun movement?
Why do most people automatically think that "sniper" means this: when in most cases a sniper is simply a long range marksman in an appropriate position.
Marksman or Sharpshooter is a more appropriate term for some guy who just happens to be firing from a concealed position. Sniper is a niche job that requires specific tactics and training, it's not just based on what you happen to be doing at the particular moment in combat. Chances are this was just some guy sitting watching the road with an bare-sighted service rifle, which is what would be called a designated marksman or sharpshooter in any modern army.
i guess it would have been too much to ask for the thread to not be about the intricacies of guns or the people that shoot them again

there was literally no way to tell he was a reporter at long range. after the first guy ran past with the AK, most people would have shot the second guy
there was literally no way to tell he was a reporter at long range. after the first guy ran past with the AK, most people would have shot the second guy
No, you see, most people don't defend dictatorial regimes.
I wasn't disturbed by that video. I am worried about me.
there was literally no way to tell he was a reporter at long range. after the first guy ran past with the AK, most people would have shot the second guy
well aside from the microphone and lack of weaponry yeah it was pretty much impossible to tell.
