dude they've basically been making the same game over and over again. honestly i dunno how you could not disagree with that.
Where did I say they didn't? They have, because frankly, that's what a sequel is. No shame there. What I'm trying to say is they've made other games than just Halo, and other games that aren't even sci-fi. And even on a base gameplay level, the formula's stayed the same buy the improvement comes in the refinement of the features. [editline]27th November 2012[/editline]
Deus Ex:HR is a game where you get to have metal arms, kill the bad guys and unravel a conspiracy. Skyrim is a game where you get to walk around killing the bad guys, good guys, neutral guys and plus do whatever you feel like. Yeah those sound bad.
Uhh... is this agreeing with me? Cause yeah they way you put it makes those games sound like ass, which is the point I am trying to make.
there's much shame when it's just milking the shit out of it. i see halo as something that should have just been one fuckin game. just like the matrix. every thing after that i couldn't give a shit about, but it might be fun to fuck about in it once in a while.
Deus Ex:HR is a game where you get to kill the bad guy Skyrim is a game where you get to walk around killing the bad guys Yeah those sound bad.
There I fixed it for you so it doesn't sound as biased and is on the level with what you said before.
There I fixed it for you so it doesn't sound as biased and is on the level with what you said before.
Have you even played HR or Skyrim? Especially Skyrim, you do whatever the shit you want.
Have you even played HR or Skyrim? Especially Skyrim, you do whatever the shit you want.
In Skyrim, you hit bad guys with swords In Deus Ex, you hit bad guys with robot arms In Bioshock you hit bad guys with lightning In Hitman, you hit bad guys with fibrewire In halflife you hit aliens with crowbars In Halo you are thrown into a massive space opera spanning the galaxy to put an end to the plot of a hegemony of fanatical aliens zealots who believe the quest to their ascension is completed by activating ancient alien artifacts known as Halos which were constructed as a last resort option of fighting back a species-consuming parasite known as the flood by wiping out all life in the galaxy. See how this makes things seem a liiiiiiittle bit biased.
Have you even played HR or Skyrim? Especially Skyrim, you do whatever the shit you want.
Have you even played Destiny? Oh wait
there's much shame when it's just milking the shit out of it. As for milking its far from it. Milking would be if they copied and pasted the game each year, Cod-style, which they don't. The gameplay remains the same to an extant, it would be silly if it didn't, but you cannot deny that the formula has been far improved since Halo:CE.
I have to admit, I'm not a fan of Halo but this actually looks interesting...I'd like to see how this game turns out.
Oh yes, they only make super generic sci-fi shooters.
For more than a decade, Bungie has been making games in a franchise (Halo) very heavily inspired by one of their previous games (Marathon). You're right that Bungie made some awesome games in the distant past, but that's what makes this so disappointing- they're free from being shackled into never-ending Halo sequels, and what's their first new project? A generic-looking sci-fi shooter. Maybe it's not what it looks like and we'll all be pleasantly surprised, but right now this looks pretty disappointing to me. Also, you forgot:

I'm pretty excited since to me a lot of the Art Looks great (except for the one that's just a painted over Tiberum cover) and it sounds pretty good.

That being said, I don't get what makes Destiny look "generic". It looks like a sci-fi game. The most we've seen is concept art so there's nothing more we can say other than that. Its like saying, if its sci-fi, its generic. At least that's how it seems to me.

Generic sci-fi body armor with gothic and anime tinges, like a cross between Halo and Hellgate: London. Generic sci-fi environments. It doesn't look bad, it just looks generic. There's nothing that really sets it apart from games and movies we've seen before, and considering Bungie's pedigree that's pretty disappointing.
I can't believe how unimaginative and dumb Unimaginative's argument is.

I don't necessarily agree, but I understand it.
For the past, what, 6 years, all they have made is sci-fi shooters.
No, really!? Perhaps that's because it was their plan to do so?

I really like the ideas they have for the plotline. With the mysterious giant sphere floating above the last city in the universe. Makes the story pretty unique.
No, really!? Perhaps that's because it was their plan to do so?
Delta don't argue with him, we're just fanboys and Halo has been around for 10 years, we are simply foolish invalids.

I'm getting a very distinct War-hammer 40kish feel from some of those units. But that's just me. [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] specifically these guys [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/32.jpg[/t] and the guys down in the corner on this one [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/9.jpg[/t]

The top guy felt very commisar-ish, and the shoulder pads on the big dudes in the second pictures made me thing Spehss Mehreens. And the guy in the center of the second reminds me of the Tau.
The other guys on the 2nd one also very distantly give me a sort of Eldar feel, especially the guy on the far right.

I have really been looking forward to a good adventure-centered game. Hope this is as good as it sounds. [editline]9th December 2012[/editline]

really not relevant to this thread please stop
