Bungie's Destiny Story Details, Concept Art Leaked

Concept art reminds me of Infinity miniatures from Corvus Belli.
That said, looks nice, I look forward to what we'll see over the next year.

These guys remind me of quarians from mass effect more than anything else.

Is concept art always just other images with your own stuff inserted in? I thought concept art was like, drawn from scratch and such. Am I wrong?

A certain image board is having a hype shitstorm / wild mass guessing time over certain 'things'. Take a look at the most recent pic:

Halo and Marathon take place in the same universe, perhaps Destiny does too.

I think they confirmed somewhere that they're parallel universes, like how two specific characters were basically parallel versions of the same person. But whatever the case, some are musing that Destiny might be Halo if Humanity failed to ward off an equivalent of the Covenant, and others think it could be taking place in the Marathon branch of things. No one knows for sure of course, but that's why we're all guessing. v:v:v
Open world sci-fi action-adventure with co-op pls?

The point of concept art is to illustrate a concept. It's not really limited to certain media or materials.

I don't see a problem with it an artist reusing a concept asset, especially since it fits the theme.

Suit Rain Camouflage DLC now only $4.99
But another sci-fi shooter looks nice, we don't get a lot of futuristic games.

Most internal concepts are to get an idea down, I doubt they were intended for public release.
there's much shame when it's just milking the shit out of it.
i see halo as something that should have just been one fuckin game. just like the matrix. every thing after that i couldn't give a shit about, but it might be fun to fuck about in it once in a while.
Dont compare the Matrix sequels to the Halo Sequels. 4 games and 2 spin offs in 11 years isnt milking it.

Im 100% sure they dont. Bungie just like throwing references around a lot.

No he's right. Halo should have been one game despite it being designed for a trilogy with the potential to go beyond to being with.

From what I recall the halo trilogy started because of pressure from Microsoft, they immediately wanted a halo 2. It's entirely possible, considering the clever reference in ODST, that Destiny was intended to be their next game and they had the idea sitting around for that long.

Halo was always intended to be a trilogy, however Halo 2 was suppose to include the events of Halo 3, but Microsoft forced them to cut it half and make Halo 3 what it was. Halo 3 was suppose to be something different, presumably the events after Master Chief being stranded in the FUD after Halo 3.
in /b/ there are some posts like
"hey /b/ i have a job for u go 2 destiny.com and crack a code!!"
I don't know what the hell they're talking about. This seems really fucking awesome though.
Hnnnng overgrown futuristic landscapes, my weakness

Microsoft didn't force Bungie to cut Halo 2 in half to make Halo 3. Bungie pissed away an entire year making an E3 tech demo that was completely unusable for the actual game. They had to rush the development of Halo 2 and decided to cut a lot of content. Even the cutscenes in 2 are heavily cut down from what Bungie originally wanted.

I don't know, I thought Halo 1, Halo 2 and Halo 3 was perfect. The original trilogy. IMO more would be unnecessary. Each of those games were fantastic in different ways and they all revolutionized something new.
The others - Reach, ODST, 4... eh...

That is one of the fake pieces of concept art, there is 3 more.

I dont see how you can say that, if Halo was only one game we wouldnt have the huge expanded universe we have today. All of Halos sequels have been great games and with how much of the universe was established in Halo CE it couldn't just be left there to be lost in time.

Plenty more was in the books around CE too, the issue was that it was all designed for a singular/limited series. Trying to expand it all out ran into several issues.
It at least sets it apart from most sci-fi games currently being released, as well as setting it apart from halo.
How is it set apart from most sci-fi? You could intersperse that concept art with Tribes concept art and not be able to tell the difference. That retro-gothic style a la Warhammer 40k is pretty well-used.
perhaps suggesting that Destiny will be less mature than Bungie’s efforts with Halo. A quote from Bungie co-founder Jason Jones says “Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure
less mature? there's still guns
are they going to pull a bf2 somehow and get this rated T
I'm getting a very distinct War-hammer 40kish feel from some of those units. But that's just me.

I was just going to post about that.
Glad I'm not the only one to make that connection.
less mature? there's still guns

Star Wars and Buck Rodgers had guns too, but they're a lot less mature and adult-oriented than Halo. I think it's pretty much a given that they'll be going for a T rating if their goal is a less mature, more family-friendly title.
I'm just going to put it out there:
holy shit this looks amazing oh JESUS
This had better be as cool as it sounds
