Mate, when I was in Afghanistan, they were making kids and women into bombers.
If Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are willing to do it, I'm sure as fucking Hell that ISIL is willing to do it.
So we should assume that they were going to be suicide bombers, and charge them suitably?
I thought the idea was innocent until proven guilty, and they're not provable guilty of having done anything except run off to marry someone (unless, of course, the court is hearing evidence we're not).
oh man how embarrasing imagine hanging out with your new terrorist friends and then your mum comes to pick you up in front of all of them
That's actually pretty short sighted.
A girl at the age of 19, given adequate time could birth a new child about once a year, over the course of 16 years she could easily have 16 children, assuming an even gender split that is 8 boys 8 girls. Given time those boys become more fighters and those girls become 16 more children multiplied by 8.
While it's true that she personally probably isn't going to pick up a gun, if ISIS somehow lasts, she'll contribute more to their cause than any single man could.
That's all assuming the conflict last long enough though, or the Islamic State gains de facto legitimacy and this turns into a decades-long ordeal. I'd say breeding kids simply to become jihadist fuckers is at least child neglect to the point of gross criminal negligence, or whatever equivalent charge that could be found in the Dutch penal code.
Chances are any of those kids born into the "Islamic State" aren't going to grow up in it, unless the rest of the world collectively shits the bed and gives up or something. That's happened with plenty of things, people just stop focusing on it and then when it's firmly out of the public conscious you'll have new politicians (elected out of spite for the old assholes they replace) crying about how much money is being wasted. I highly doubt that something of this magnitude could just be forgotten about and shrugged off by basically the entire free world, but it is a distant possibility.

We should assume that the court makes the decision it's there for to make?? You don't know what evidence there is, the court doesn't yet knows what evidence there is, the evidence will be presented, and then we'll hear a verdict, and it's nonsensical to say she shouldn't be charged, I'm sure they have enough grounds to do that.
Honestly the age excuse doesnt work here in the slightest, i was sympathetic towards the 15 year old girl lured overseas by isis, but 19? fuck off. i was 19 just last year, its not a super impressionable age, you know what you are doing.
This is like a plot for Taken 4, starring Bryan Mills' sister that he never even knew he had.

Of course the evidence will be presented, and the court will do its job, for better or ill. The fact that we don't know everything is why I'm not supporting the idea of their being paraded around as terrorists and charged as such.
Terrorist sympathisers, totally, but whether or not that's an offence is kinda up in the air, it seems.

You're not them; they're not you.
In the Netherlands you're an adult at the age of 18, why is she being called a teen unless they're trying to skew the article?

teen means 10-19

Teen != underage, albeit only for 2 to 5 years depending on where you live, excluding non-western countries, and Italy.
Aicha went to Syria nine months ago to marry a Dutch-Turkish jihadist fighter, Omar Yilmaz, who her mother, Monique, says she saw “as a sort of Robin Hood.”
The teenager was inspired by Yilmaz's interview on TV. As her mother told Dutch television a few months ago, she turned from a bright teenager called “Sterlina” into “Aicha”, a radical supporter of jihadists.
She then traveled to Syria, where she wanted to marry Yilmaz, Aicha asked for her mother’s help after the marriage failed and Aicha ended up with a Tunisian fighter.
Don't know why this wasn't quoted in the OP. It really shows that all the people joining ISIS think they're going to be part of some sort of revolution.

Yes but that doesn't mean she should be seen as a kid, which most people seem to think when they read "teen" in the title.

Teens are not kids anyway so people who think that do not matter. They can also read that she's 19.

Because her age ends in -teen
The point Jiggu is trying to make I think is that the use of teen in the article is an intentional skewing of public opinion to craft a better narrative. The image that 'mom goes to rescue teenage daughter from Jihadists' conjures up in your head is far more marketable that 'Woman retrieved from Syria by mother'
I guess those two girls from Austria don't need to worry about competition for this year's Darwin Awards.
