The Obama administration says they support everything short of "boots on the ground"
Jetpacks! :science:
About time.
Jetpacks! :science:
The soldiers don't wear boots! :science:
I think it's too late at this point. I can't really blame the UN though, it's easy for idiots on an internet forum to talk about the simplicity of putting a no-fly zone in place, actually drafting a resolution and planning it out is a completely different matter.
Its also easy for idiots in the UN to spend a lot of time drafting a resolution and asking incompetents on what to do.
Also Libya is an already crippled and isolated enemy rather than a strong country with Soviet support
yes thats true i forgot about that. thanks
Fucking finally.
Way too late though
First target: Gaddafi's residence. Throw JDAMs at him.

Let's kill the evil terrorist leader now.
Can't wait to see how everything unfolds.
I hope it's not too late. Seeing all those victories that the loyalists have been getting lately is worrying.
Well, I guess the next war's in Libya. Let's just hope that Libya's allies don't retaliate or anything, like what Fedly said. Anyways, if all goes as planned, sorting out Libya shouldn't really take as long as the Gulf War... But i'm wondering about the length of the "cleanup operation", like the one that began in the Middle East circa 2003.
Let's kill the evil terrorist leader now.
Give the nuclear missile bomb to us, leader enemy boss, and then put your hands up.
The Obama administration says they support everything short of "boots on the ground"
I imagine marines playing that "ground is searing lava" game, jumping from rock to rock.

The UN will help out with getting back on it's feet but the US won't have anything to do with it outside of the UN
thing is we're fighting an organized military here in wide open urban areas, which is where our warriors excel more like what happened in the 90s with the US wrecking Saddam's shit
Correction: The US military excels at fighting state armies that are not peer opponents/hopelessly feckless and happen to be situated in the wide open desert.
Just Tac-Tom all the army bases.
AFP now quotes Alain Juppe, the French foreign minister, as saying that military strikes could quickly follow after a UN security council resolution on Libya.
10 pm utc so that's in an hour right?
Shame even more people have to die because of his bullshit. I feel a sense of 'Hell yea fuck shit up' about the strike readiness. But his soldiers have to die too, not just him. Dunno if his soldiers are evil too, or if they can't leave or be executed or whatever.
10 pm utc so that's in an hour right?
Two hours
10 pm utc so that's in an hour right?
Well it's 5PM EST, so in 1 hour 6 minutes, yes.
Well it's 5PM EST, so in 1 hour 6 minutes, yes.
It's almost 4pm EST
It's almost 4pm EST
Oh, oops! I completely forgot about DST and how it changes it from 5 hours to 4 hours...
Also, if by the time UN, US, NATO or any other organization actually take action Gaddafi's goons and the rebels are intermingled in the fighting, air power and precision weapons will be a much less effective method of intervention short of committing actual ground forces into the country.
Cool. Anyone know if they will broadcast it live or where I can hear it right after they vote? Our local news radio and TV is slow to pick up on breaking news.
Yeah, and he said it starts at 10PM UTC/GMT, which is one hour away? I must be mistaken then, because I assumed UTC is GMT (0).
It starts at 10pm UTC. It is now 7:58pm UTC
10 pm utc so that's in an hour right?
2 hours
Isn't UTC the same as GMT? In which case it'll be in two hours. :ninja:
