I'm really, really, really, really, not happy about this. But the will of the people and respect for our democracy should be respected and upheld.
Why though?
I don`t feel like re-explaining myself, check through my post history for the previous thread I posted in. [editline]30th March 2017[/editline] https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1555106&p=51903551#post51903551 Here.
Good for you Canada.
You don't like this because your dad was an idiot?
** misinformed/ignorant
Your views are based on emotion and shouldn't be the basis of any legislation
That's not exactly fair, this dude's at a disadvantage in comparison to other people and has to work harder. He has a point that people think it's absolutely harmless, when it can be harmful if irresponsibly used. People are misinformed, they're told weed is the devil, and then some think weed is absolutely harmless after trying it, when it's really something in between harmless and harmful that needs to be responsibly used. Though I found some of them somewhat attacking and negative, there are some fair points. And couldn't you say that, if weed was legalized a long time ago, that more studies could have been done and your parents would have been informed about second-hand smoke around expectant mothers, thus you wouldn't have a disability?
Claxx, with all due respect, you are 100% wrong on the subject. I respect your right to hold your view and all, but you do not speak for us, you do not control anyone. Weed in small amounts does not cause birth defects, in fact sometimes it even helps the fetus (obviously smoking it is harmful), but certain elements in weed can be helpful for prenatal care. There is little to NO evidence supporting small amounts of weed causing pregnancy problems. You can brick wall everyone all you want, but you are entirely in the wrong on the subject.
Probably set it so late so it will be fresh in the minds of voters for the 2019 election.

You end up making yourself look like a fool and its really obviously bad for your mental health.
I work high on marijuana all the time, if anything it makes work more doable. Even if you can't it still a nice thing to look out for at the end of your shift.

Didn't think so, I googled it and it's bullshit misinformation, fuck off. If you want to present valid arguements that are backed up by fact go ahead (Yes they exsist) But don't you fucking dare tell me that the smoke my mom inhaled was actually good for me and my stillborn sister.
There's honestly no proof marijuana is what caused all your problems
Doesn't excuse blatant lying and misinformation that this substance is healthy and good for pregnancies. You wanna say there's no way to know 100℅ it's solely to blame? Fine. That's not invalid. The former is and I find it really hypocritical that FP wants to star his post bc they agree with everyone else and I should have 3 pages of people jumping down my throat with paragraphs on why my feelings aren't valid and I'm a stupid fucking idiot for my opinion.
I should have 3 pages of people jumping down my throat with paragraphs on why my feelings aren't valid and I'm a stupid fucking idiot for my opinion.
I thought you treated your bullshit as "facts"?
Better yet how about we keep this shit illegal because its fucking harmful?

I thought you treated your bullshit as "facts"?
My stance is backed up by emotional response and what I know I've been through and how it's affected me on a personal level, I never once said it was from hours of research or hard critical thinking. What I did do was call out bullshit like retards claiming that the native americans used weed and that it was part of our culture ergo (they didn't use what we know now as marijuana so the claim was bullshit skrrt skrrt) [editline]1st April 2017[/editline] I'm really done with this shit too, I respect y'all opinions and in the end you're getting what you want with the legalization. You gain nothing from changing my opinion. Even if I became ok with it being legal I'll forever still have an extreme wave of anxiety any time someone pulls it out in my presence.
You need counseling mate.
You need counseling mate.
We were over this in the previous thread, while I appreciate your concern for my mental well being, I detect some pretentious scorn.
I'll believe it when I see it. It was supposed to get legalized this spring when they announced it last year. We'll see.
Last year they announced legislation would be introduced this year. It was an announcement for an announcement.

I googled it an i couldnt find anything on mainstream news saying weed causes birth defects. So while i am wrong and a dumbass for pulling it out of my ass, im more or less just doing what you did. Though either way there needs to be more research into the topic before either of us run our mouths on it. I feel bad, but it probably wasnt weed. And i never said you were an idiot, just extremely misinformed.
Weed isn't some miracle drug, but it's also not some abhorrent Satan spawn. THC is less harmful to your body than alcohol, and if it's ingested in such a way that doesn't involve smoking, it, to my knowledge, has very little chance of causing cancer. TCH is less harmful than alcohol to the body, and unlike alcohol there is no evidence to suggest that THC is physically addictive, and alcohol is legal, largely because trying to ban it was an unmitigated failure. Trying to ban weed has been an unmitigated failure as well.

It's an ancient plant, and has been culturally relevant for thousands of years. You can't just say it isn't because you want to dismiss that.
