Also what kind of cooling would I need for a 670 GTX? After my 9800GT decided it didn't like its fan going over 25% capacity and eventually burnt out, I'm ultra cautious about heat.
I wasn't particularly considering upgrading before this deal but I just bought a 7950 to replace my 5870. Time to cancel my Hitman preorder on Steam
Some high-end gaming rigs have windows on the sides so you/people at lan parties can look at your parts. Also because it's nice to have something more than a bare PCB+heatsink+fan, for both looks and, yeah, advertising. I mean look at how nice some of EVGA's latest Nvidia cards look
who the fuck comes to someones house to check out their parts.
Are you guys fucking kidding me? Did I misread it or you really preffer Radeon cards? When I had Radeon 4000-something it's fan broke after it's first couple of months and card overheated even when playing half life 2. Later I bought Radeon 5000-something and it's fan broke after second week. I was shocked by how shitty Radeon cards are. It's probably made in china or something. I bought gtx 560 Ti when it came out and this babe runs everything fine, perfectly. It has even better surround technology, better 3D glasses and better support for them in games (supports almost all games) Also it has amazing PhysX effects and better drivers that support even old games.
I don't think you understand that literally every piece of technology you've ever bought was made/assembled in China
I remember getting far cry 2 for free with my gtx 260 Almost took the card back because of it ;(
my AMD card is fine, I haven't had any issues so was my Nvidia, but I decided to upgrade because it was starting to show age can we stop fighting please
idle?
Yup. It's always run that hot. It'll get up to around ~80 when I'm gaming or rendering or whatever. I;ve never had problems with it, but I will miss it when I upgrade next summer.
I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas.

Well now I have an excuse to quit being a lazy asshole and update my 7850 drivers.
