The PS4 has some nifty box art. [thumb]http://media.psu.com/media/articles/image/PS4Box_Launch500GB.png[/thumb] Looks inviting compared to the Xbone.

"Looks inviting", I mean christ you guys are just doing it for the sake of it now.
forza 4 has nice models but the lighting is so bad even what they showed for forza 5 had bad lighting and shadows
The selling point of Forza is painting dicks on "lawnmowers" with a V12 crammed in the rear.
are we really down to comparing box art? "Looks inviting", I mean christ you guys are just doing it for the sake of it now.
Yeah we're comparing box art because everything else has already been compared, who cares :v:
Any extra power only really matters for exclusives anyway. I, personally, love Forza and can't see anything comparable on the PS4.
Well there's "The Crew" which is on both which looks better that most racing games, even forza and GT for me.
Does it honestly perturb you that much?
Well, yesterday someone was praising a fucking commercial:
This is what I fucking LOVE about advertisements, when they make all the hairs on your body stand up from all the exciting things going on in the advert, This sort of advertisement is way better than the Xbox's, they add so much energy to it.
This thing had 21 agrees. I mean, shit, it's like Sony could never do no wrong. Everyone's jumping on Microsoft because they wanted to make it Always Online, and while that's shitty and such, it's not like Sony is known for being open, like at all. Just look at the proprietary memory cards for the Vita, or basically every other proprietary standard Sony has tried to push through. They're both companies, and they both do shitty stuff all the time - but because Microsoft touched something you feel strongly about (even though they 180'ed completely afterwards), suddenly Sony's the company of love and fun. Both companies are trying to get your money, take the best offer (the PS4), but don't kiss asses because Sony played it safe this generation.

Microsoft hasn't seen a major change in leadership since before the last line of products rolled out, aka, the windows 8 generation era of microsoft. Sony has seen a recent change in CEO's and as such, somewhat a change in gameplan in approach to getting that money from people. Sony just basically wanted to make something that was more classical Sony console style in a way because they knew that worked the last time, they totally played it safe in doing so, but sometime safe isn't the worst thing.

But I'm not getting a console either way.
With that comparison, not much.
Skyrim's graphics are actually way more advanced than Oblivion's. I thought it was only a small improvement at first, but then when I actually went back to play Oblivion, it shocked me how bad it was in comparison.
I kind of liked the xbox ad with the naked baby flying through the air and then into a grave Wait what the fuck even was that all about
Except for the main competitor for it? Gran Turismo? I can't remember if one has been announced for it yet, but one will happen eventually.
Gran Turismo 6 won't be a PS4 game. They said Gran Turismo 7 will be though.
I kind of liked the xbox ad with the naked baby flying through the air and then into a grave Wait what the fuck even was that all about
what's with last gen and baby commercials? Sony and MS had really weird baby commercials
At this point speed doesn't really matter that much, when the fps and fov are alright and the game doesn't look like a blurry mess it's mostly down to the gameplay/story to make a game good .
looks like games have the potential to run at a solid 60 on the new consoles, but i wouldn't count on FOV, because generally TVs are further away from you than a monitor. sucks for people like me though, because i play my PS3 on my computer monitor
Well yeah, the release titles aren't going to look much better than current generation games anyway. If there is a tangible difference I expect to see it in the future.
I dunno, Ryse, Killzone: ShadowFall, Deep Down and inFamous: Second Son look pretty damn impressive. They're clearly a few steps above what the current-gen consoles can do.
Anonymous source lol, it really won't matter at least for a while third party games are always made so they play almost identically on both consoles. We may notice a difference a few years down the line, but it really didn't hurt the 360.

However, the 360/PS3 situation is a little different as (allegedly) the performance difference between the two is much less pronounced than between the PS4 and the Xbox One. Multiplatform games, as always, will likely be much the same on both platforms and it's in the exclusives we'll see the major difference. We'll probably see the first real example of this when we see Halo 5 and whatever Naughty Dog and/or Quantic Dream are cooking up put against each other.
Stop coming into threads on why the PS4 is better and coming up with some excuse to why the xbox one should be still relevant even though the damn thing has yet to be released.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that, while Zach can be a overzealous, there's nothing wrong with him supporting the Xbox One if that's genuinely what he wants to do. He's not even being unreasonable in this thread.
My roommate wants to buy a PS4 just to use the hardware because he believes "it's the most powerful civilian computer." You don't know how bad I want to punch him in the throat.
yeah how dare him not know videogames as well as you!
No need to be so passive aggressive y'know :v: I don't know a single person who hasn't gotten at least a little frustrated when someone doesn't understand their hobby particularly well, especially when they don't seem to understand it on even a rudimentary level. The real trick is to turn that frustration into excitement that you can try and share more about your hobby with someone and get them into it. Doesn't always work, but as always XKCD is relevant. Like it's 400 bucks. High end PC's for 1k could destroy the PS4.

Dark, grim looking corridor shooters and more corridor shooters, IN SPACE
they're console boxes who cares
Looks uninviting, joyless and it's preparing you for the kind of games you'll be playing there. Dark, grim looking corridor shooters and more corridor shooters, IN SPACE
Now that's just silly. I do like the PS4 box art more, it's happier(?) I suppose.
Haha, arguing about console boxes. As if you would not scoot it under your bed / into some storage room / throw it away.
Halo 4 looks great, but playing splitscreen multiplayer, it really struggles with frame rates on some maps which is a bummer. Otherwise, it plays and looks pretty ding dang great
You lost me at "Halo 4 looks great"
