You start to lose track of time and your sense of self. A high maintenence girlfriend is indeed a very hard task to accomplish without either you or your bank account dying a very painful death.

Apparently getting a girlfriend is like some kind of horrible lottery where you could end up with a 1950's stereotype instead of just, you know, finding someone you like to be around and (holy shit) likes to be around you. No, women are strange creatures, and luckily I avoided all of this unpleasant business by getting into med school.

It is not like every woman enjoys shoe shopping. Also shopping with your significant other is not bad when it is not too extreme excess.
