why are you being so hostile?
Mostly because the person that started this conversation decided to do it like this:
I find it ironic that it usually is left-wingers (rather than supposedly selfish conservatives) of all people who have been inculcated with such hedonistic and self-interested ideas that cannot see a benefit if it isn't directly to them
Yes, the 'left wingers' (when did this get political again?) just want to fuck without consequence forever, and party and drink booze. It's not as if there are plenty of legitimate, fulfilling, and time consuming things that a person might want to do before, or instead of, having a child. If you have a child and want to attend university, good luck managing a STEM degree if you're not a genius, 'cause you're not going to have the time you need to study. If you have a project you want to work on, such as writing a book, or honing your skills in an art, or producing an independent videogame, your time for that likely no longer exists. Children aren't something you just create and leave alone, the moment you have a child your life revolves around that child. You're the one who has to pay for it, you're the one who has to raise it and teach it and keep it out of harm's way. I see so many young people my age complaining about being unable to find any careers whatsoever. Do they need to have children in the immediate future? It seems like FlashMarsh is implying that the responsible thing, which is to wait until you're ready to have kids, is somehow 'hedonistic' and 'selfish', and that pisses me off. The only places in the world in which not personally having a child has any significant negative effect on society as a whole are places that we likely see very, very little traffic from on this forum, so I really don't see the argument. If anything, the high teen pregnancy rates in conservative U.S. states that won't fucking teach sex education to students who aren't financially capable of supporting said children are a more selfish, pointless, and wasteful drain on society than not having children is.
I find it ironic that it usually is left-wingers (rather than supposedly selfish conservatives) of all people who have been inculcated with such hedonistic and self-interested ideas that cannot see a benefit if it isn't directly to them
Yes, the majority of liberals are this way and no conservatives are selfish. Jesus dude, you're so easily falling into the usual traditional conservatives' tendency to generalize people, it's embarrassing. Luckily I know you better, but if I didn't I'd be worried you'd start screaming about libtards and how Obama is ruining the world in your next handful of posts.
Well, you can't really rule it out on degree of it being possible - after all, mistakes do happen. It's just highly unlikely that it can be done properly at a young age, to a great extent.
i wasn't referring to people who don't yet want to have children but may consider it in the future, i was referring to those who claim they never want to have children. i think having kids in your early 20s is irresponsible for most people, as i have said i'd rather wait til my early 30s where i hopefully will have a steady job [editline]12th October 2016[/editline] i'm pretty sure flashmarsh wasn't referring to people who want to wait to have children, but to those such as Saturn V who said they will never want to have children.

Towards whom? The kids that don't event exist?
UK, US, France are very well placed for next 50 years because we have good (ideally we want a little higher, but its alright) fertility topped up by immigration. Then again, not sure what Singapore due to land constraints can really do (though not the case with Japan, Korea, China, to some extent Taiwan, etc.). East Asia is going be destroyed by their massively aging populations (even relative to the West) and it is too late to do anything. Whenever people complain about my pro-natalist policy (usually by calling it 'Nazi' or the like) for some reason the very same people would never support slashing pensions to pieces.
I don't know why people are calling you a Nazi for it other then the fact that Nazis infamously promoted it, but there's really no use for natalism anymore. It's not that it's an outdated concept, but rather that we've already passed the period in which natalism could me used to assuage our aging populations, and for now all we can do is wait for all of those aging populations to die off and afterwards attempt to maintain a similar level of population across all age groups. Besides, there's no way you could get natalism to work right now anyways, children take a lot of time, energy, and money which in short supply for the current generation of young adults due to the economic policies put in place in the 80s by your so loved conservative figures.
So uh, did anyone else come into this article expecting space sex?
Never wanted a child but I'm looking to adopt a prodigy child with an IQ of 200 so that when he's older he could take care of me until I retire.
good luck getting yourself on their good side
So uh, did anyone else come into this article expecting space sex?
Pretty sure one can't get a boner in space, IIRC.
I feel clastrophobic just imagining being in a flat with several generations of family, let alone trying to just hang out with a girlfriend, let alone trying to bang, let alone intentionally trying to concieve in all of these conditions, out of wedlock, just to grant myself a ticket to rent an apartment for some fucking privacy, which would be pretty moot after that point as you now probably would want to use the stay-at-home family members to babysit while you attempt to continue living life, since you're going to be way too fucking busy otherwise taking care of a baby yourself. build bigger, better housing and encourage less babies instead of telling people they should fuck in a closet if they need privacy, so they can qualify for livable space to have the privacy you should require to live your life and start a family
Pretty sure one can't get a boner in space, IIRC.
it's difficult (but not impossible) due to how your body is built to distribute pressure to counter-act gravity (so basically, blood pressure is going to your upper body and doesn't pool so well in your lower body). You could probably replicate the conditions if you were hanging upside down off your bed or something, with the bonus of imagining you're also experiencing the feeling you get on the first drop of a rollercoaster, except that drop lasts several months. [sp]if someone really wanted to get it up I'm sure a cockring would do the trick. viagra would probably just cause more blood pressure around the body in general, which would be discomforting, if not dangerous[/sp]
Backwards rules/traditions, overworking, etc etc
Singaporean/chinese community has the trend to adopt their perceived 'western values' and to become as west as they can. This time it's her perceived 'sexual openness' of the west. But she's a souteast asia government workers. When a government worker here speaks, they had no motivation other than trying to please their boss. Citizen's/underling well being is just an afterthought, if there's any. Believe me I'm a civil servant
