everything is a conspiracy
Glad I preordered mine right when they became available.
this is hilarious if you remember the article where it was said that the Xbox One broke records for preorders, just another bullshit lie by Microsoft :v:
Well, they didn't exactly lie, it was Blockbuster saying that it was their most in-demand preorder ever and considering it's Blockbuster, it was probably like, 12 or 13
Great so it's gonna be the current gen console launches all over again, with around 4-7 months of searching stores until they get enough in stock. Took me fucking forever to find a PS3 back then.
Well fuck me, I don't have the money for a ps4 yet so I'm boned.
I've never bought a console on day one before. I'm kind of tempted
Meanwhile on Amazon

I'm assuming amazon uk and amazon us are two different top sellers because in the US because

It is interesting to me the difference based on countries.
Anyone know what this 'Launch Day Edition' is?
Anyone know what this 'Launch Day Edition' is?
It just means it is available release day where as the xbox has day one edition imprinted on the controller and an exclusive achievement.
Anyone know what this 'Launch Day Edition' is?
i should let you just do your own work and spend 5 seconds on google, but the only difference between launch day edition and regular is that launch day confirms a ps4 for you on the day of launch. regular is just a normal preorder where you'll get your console as soon as stock allows for it
hence why launch day edition is unavailable, as it is sold out, while you can still preorder regular edition
everything is a conspiracy
so the marketing idea of making a product out to be limited in quantity, one that is used a lot, is a conspiracy? lol
ah shit, is there anyway I could help speed up production.
so the marketing idea of making a product out to be limited in quantity, one that is used a lot, is a conspiracy? lol
The PS4 is in number two and three most purchased on the US amazon and number one in the UK and Canada websites, and that's just the three sites I could be assed to check. Feel free to check the others yourself.
So I don't think it's unreasonable to say that the PS4 will run out of stock on first set production.
Anyone know what this 'Launch Day Edition' is?
Pretty sure it means you get it on launch day.
Edit: Should of seen that one coming.
"Launch Day Edition" includes an exclusive Doritos controller as well as a 2-Day Offline Pass Code
ah shit this is a ps4 thread
I'd rather wait for V2, so that any bugs, hardware or software, could be ironed out.
Same. I guess I'll end up buying a PS3 first, but I'd gladly wait if I had the 100% sure confirmation that the few PS3 games I want would work on the PS4.
I'd rather wait for V2, so that any bugs, hardware or software, could be ironed out.
Wouldn't you be entitled to a replacement if hardware issues were too widespread?
Fuck, I really hope that I can get a pre-order in before launch. I won't have the money to do so until next month.
Need more Obsidian Rhombuses
We had asshats buying the consoles just to smash them.
RIP Merge 2013-2013 ;_;7
I still remember seeing those videos back during the PS3 release.
Time flies.
This is like split between good and bad.
Good cause holy shit so much profit.
Bad because there will be some people who will turn away from this.

It looks like a stubby refrigerator.
Why doesn't Sony make kitchen appliances, between this and the PS3 they've shown a real knack in designing them and could oust Samsung as the best company that makes everything.

Wait, shit... that's in New Mexico.
They did just start digging up the old Atari landfill. Maybe Microsoft can put that back into service after they're done poking through Atari's huge megafail.
I wish I had the money for a PS4 :c
How is this selling compared with the XBOne?
Well, considering the nature of the console (proven architecture, a proven disk storage format) I don't think there will be too much problems with the first iteration but who knows
Personally I'll just wait for it to drop down to $300 to get one
For the xbox360 there wasnt a problem with any of those, it was a physical problem with the design. Problems could be with anything.
Didnt pre order mine, doesnt look like ill be getting one for christmas this year
Preordered the last one at my local GameStop

Well considering that it uses the x86 instruction set and PC-derived architecture I'd say that it's fairly proven. The disk is also (supposedly) a user upgradeable disk, so that's pretty proven technology too.
The only way I could see any real disaster there is if 1) the console catches fire 2) the software deletes the disk every time you turn it on.
