Calgary ended water fluoridation. Cavities and other health problems are now rapidly rising.

As long as it's not damaging. Marmite is technically an industrial waste, due to it being made from yeast leftover from beer production.
I just brush my teeth, there has never been fluoride artificially added to tap water here and I have not had a cavity in years.
You must have some good teeth.
Even if it doesn't accumulate like a toxin in the body, that still doesn't change that the source of the flouride is industrial waste. There are numerous sources supporting this that a google search will provide.
Seriously, I don't believe the conspiracy nut claims.

still doesnt conclude that its dangerous
ingesting fluoride is poisonous, it's a fact, it fucks up your cells G-protein receptors.
meaning?
meaning?
that he went to wikipedia and doesnt have a clue about half the shit hes spreading
but hey i use big words which means no one can refute my claims
i want to see what he has to say about it
Hey I can't argue either so I call people conspiracy theorist and insult them to make me look like I know what I'm talking about.

It's not JUST the amount of fluoride PPM that determines how harmful it is, it's what other elements are accompanying the fluoride. Welcome to chemistry.
im not gonna watch a video if you cant articulate your own arguments bud
when you say "it fucks up your cells G-protein receptors", what do you mean by that
Do a search for "teeth" and "plaque conspiracy"
and "metallica"
I know because I live near Portland, Oregon, which is one of the few cities left that has never put fluoride in its drinking water supply and there is no real statistic correlation to support that any damage has come from that decision.
So where's this famous piece showing no correlation?
I've been looking under the table, and in my glass. I went to the fridge and checked behind the sofa cushions but all I found was a takeaway menu for the local Chinese.
Where is this study? Can you help me find me it?
Well, I live in an isolated area with well water.
Only one cavity in my life, but my dentist assured me that it was inevitable anyway. Due to the way my teeth had grown and were pretty close. Otherwise, I've been cavity free, and I haven't had any Fluoride Water.
Can I get a cookie now for being a good child?
I wouldn't want additives in my water supply even if it was a side effect free cure for cancer.
Fluoride in the water sets a precedent to allow those at the top to dump whatever they want in the water "because we know best" and violates the average person's rights to control what enters their body.
Fluoride was in my water?
That's a pretty good fucking idea really.

Except this sort of thing goes through years of testing, public debate, and the sort before making its way to the water supply.

I don't care. I want to know that when I drink water that it hasn't been tampered with, I don't care who or what is assuring me that it's safe. For the same reasons I don't want to eat a hamburger with pink slime or horsemeat in it, even though pink slime is considered safe by the FDA.
Portland, Oregon is one of the only cities in America that doesn't fluoridate its water supply.
It also has a higher concentration of furries than anywhere else in the US.
Coincidence?
I've worked for a dentist before and it always amazes me how paranoid people are with fluoride
I don't care. I want to know that when I drink water that it hasn't been tampered with, I don't care who or what is assuring me that it's safe. Well the water has already been tampered with from its natural state.
You could go fetch water from a stream, but this is considered silly.
Also what's the problem with "pink slime", is it dangerous?

Trust me, after a visit to the dentist, I would rather have fluoride poisoning.

um
so do you grow your own food and knit your own clothes?
because if you purchase, consume, or use anything you didn't make yourself, you're eating/drinking something that has been "tampered with by people who assure you its safe"
also what the hell is wrong with horsemeat or pink slime if its considered safe

Okay let me clarify: I want my water to be as pure as possible, and doing shit to it that has the opposite effect is a shitty thing to do.
Okay let me clarify: I want my water to be as pure as possible, and doing shit to it that has the opposite effect is a shitty thing to do.
Ah, so you buy cylinders of hydrogen and oxygen to specially combust in a chamber to prevent it becoming contaminated?
citation needed; prove to me portland doesnt have any cavity issues and doesnt add any flouride
the amount of flouride put in the water is so miniscule that it never be able to affect your health adversely
secondly, how is this propaganda?
are you really saying that all these cavities are just lies made by the government and media?
how can you say there is no correlation when studies have proven time and time again that flouride in the public water supply has been nothing but beneficial for people's teeth and do not affect their health?
btw you sound like a conspiracy theorist
Fuck I was homeless in Portland and EVERYONE I saw has cavities. Finding someone with a 'pristine' set of teeth is very difficult. The only cavity I ever had was on my wisdom tooth because it came in weirdly.
Why the hell did they think that?
Because I didn't want to take up the family business as a lawyer and my GPA was low.
Okay let me clarify: I want my water to be as pure as possible, and doing shit to it that has the opposite effect is a shitty thing to do.
if you want pure water, go get some from a stream
oh but wait, natural water supplies can be (and usually are) tainted with arsenic
and cryptosporidium
and naturally occurring fluoride
and lead
and amoebas
dont forget the fecal matter and bacterium like salmonella
but you can go ahead and drink that totally pure natural water while we drink our water with minute trace amounts of chlorine and fluoride that are so minuscule that even chronic exposure will never build up enough to harm us; the chemicals that prevent us from getting sick and dying because natural water can be pretty fucking disgusting
Ah, so you buy cylinders of hydrogen and oxygen to specially combust in a chamber to prevent it becoming contaminated?
No, but purposefully moving away from that goal isn't a good thing.
No, but purposefully moving away from that goal isn't a good thing.
Why not?
I enjoy my water with trace amounts of fluoride in it. I think everybody should have free access to clean, safe, health-benefiting, drinkable water.

What? pure =/= natural, and if you had read what I was replying to you'd realize that.

Again you're assuming a government body should have the ability to medicate people without their direct consent or knowledge.

But this knowledge is widely available. You need to only go to a library or website or probably ask somebody who was knowledgeable about it. The state isn't suppressing this information, quite the contrary.
Secondly, it is with peoples consent. Why do you think they hold large meetings, debates, and votes on these things all the time? And allow even crazy conspiracy theorists to publish their crackpot ideas about them?
Bad goy, you do know that flouride in minute quantities in municipal water supplies isn't actually poisonous? Scientific consensus pretty much says "lol you nutter" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_fluoridation#Safety
In fact, it's up to you to prove to me that not only is it bad, but that what you claim for Portland is true.
Hm...
There is no clear association between fluoridation and cancer or deaths due to cancer, both for cancer in general and also specifically for bone cancer and osteosarcoma.[10]
So I checked up on that citation...

Australia is obviously the Illuminati Headquarters.
Illuminati has ten letters, but if you combine both L's just nine.

Try denying this one Sobotnik!

Well water has naturally occurring minerals in it, including fluoride.

Go to the store and buy some distilled water then, if you were drinking water you filter yourself, from natural sources like rivers and ground water, you'd be getting similar amounts of fluoride or even more, depending on local mineral content levels. The amount they put in is less usually than the pure and natural stuff you refer to.
I decided to look up the level of naturally occurring fluoride, and found that some areas have up to 23mg/l of fluoride in their ground water due to high levels of fluoride in local mineral deposits.
Personally, I think the fact that Calgary actually removed the flouride is good, and I applaud them for taking the step. Not necessarily because i'm all for the anti-flouride parade (which I am, see Pineal Gland and a long story.), but because in Science you have to test the theory to actually see if there is something to it. And Calgary has done just that. Now, we have a viable source of information to watch from this little town in Canada.
But of course there would be a rise in cavity cases, Flouride DOES play an anti-cavity role, there is no doubt about that. However do you know what is even more effective than Flouride in your drinking water? Toothpaste which you lather and brush the teeth with for (if you're doing it right) up to several minutes, allowing it to strengthen and repair your enamel.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada is just a little North of the US-CA border, but it is pretty rural- and Rural US/UK is not like Rural CA from what I understand. It can be a little under developed (in terms of the 1st World) and poor. A lot of farming and industry communities. So it's safe to say not a lot of folks probably brush or practice regular oral hygiene. Therefore the water was probably doing them a lot of good.
This should not however, deter the continuation of their anti-flouride campaign. This is how we learn, and if their scores remain the same, brains function normally, and have not proved anything towards the Conspiracy Theories; we can add it back to their water. For now, run an Oral Hygiene campaign. Pass out some toothbrushes and toothpaste!
