How many of which can you go to the store, purchase for PC, and not have to install on Steam? I got a boxed copy of Skyrim a while back. Opened it to get the CD key and downloaded the game from Steam. I have never even seen the CD for it. Which is true. If they want to succeed to the transition to digital, they need to lower the prices. Steam has the exact same shortcomings. And Microsoft is trying to do the same with consoles. There are so many parallels to what Microsoft is doing that Valve did. It's like you guys want consoles to stay behind. Ever notice how when you're bored with your Steam library, you can just play an installed game without even having to get up to put a CD in? Or if you want to purchase a game, you don't even have to go to the store to purchase it. Or the massive amounts of money you've spent on games from deals that could only be done via digital distribution. Microsoft is literally trying to do the same thing for consoles. But you guys seem so hellbent on consoles being this fixed thing that should never progress with technology.
"Steam has the exact same shortcomings." you can buy the disc for a game Steam can work on a computer with a CD tray and I'm not "Hell bent against technological progress" I said I wanted both, not just one.

You need internet to register the game on steam and patch it. Pretty sure patching is even forced on you during the initial install unless they've changed it.
Halo 2 Anniversary will have MP, just like Halo CE Anniversary. Halo 5 is still in development, and i'm not going to assume it's crap just because Halo 4 wasn't exact "Halo" overall. 343 Industries has an opportunity to make a good Halo game this time around. They aren't going to release a new Titanfall 120 after the release, probably just new content or maybe a physical/downloadable expansion?
343 also has some new creative staff and a new director from other veteran companies so maybe they will actually do the Halo series some justice. I wish I didn't have to buy an xbone to play it though

People with just a computer are more likely to have access to the internet (in fact, it's one of the more main reasons). People with no internet are more likely to buy a console not only that but, you don't need steam to play games on the computer you know. There's thousands of thousands of games that don't even need steam.
digital download on a PC is very very different than on a console you know a PC is very personal whilst a console is extremely shared, sometimes even with more than 4 people. When you're at your home PC being able to buy and instantly download a game is huge it's also huge for a console, but collecting physical copies is such a big culture when it comes to them as well. Additionally, so is sharing and selling your old console games. Disc's are an issue with PC more often then for a console I'd say. And besides that, Valve actually pretty much revolutionized PC gaming on a massive level with digital download. Digital download is no joke, a MASSIVE deal. But sometimes it just can't beat physical. While CD's are slowly becoming obsolete to where some computers don't even have a disc tray, and for good reasons, it would be a huge loss if they were to have a console without one. Imagine if consoles didn't have CD trays period. Anyone without internet literally cannot play it.
I made a promise to myself not to buy an Xbone, Micro$oft are gonna have to try harder than this..
there are tons of games on steam that don't need steam, that, plus, offline mode
Neither of which are going to help you when you buy a Steam game on DVD. You still need internet for the initial install.
not only that but, you don't need steam to play games on the computer you know. There's thousands of thousands of games that don't even need steam.
The entire discussion was about Steam's shortcomings. What does non-steam games have to do with this? Although even then most games require some type of internet activation these days, Steam or not.
So their hot items are a re release of an old game and a crap rpg. Fable wishes it was skyrim so bad.
Fable wishes it was skyrim so bad.
they're completely different games lmao
Fable wishes it was skyrim so bad.
Lawl Baldur's Gate wishes it was Skyrim so bad
AKA "Fuck your ability to buy a random game at a store and play it!" price.
They will just have a thing where you buy the disc and then there is a code inside to redeem and download the game onto your console. This would ruin trade in games though. [editline]31st January 2014[/editline]
So their hot items are a re release of an old game and a crap rpg. People went crazy when they were shutting down the Halo 2 servers.

Not gonna lie that Forza sounds hot as fuck.
Ever since I rebuilt my PC, I haven't bothered to put my CD Drive back in. That's one reason I love having Digital Download. It enables and promotes me to sit on my fat, lazy stupid ass and never, ever go outside. :v:
I really doubt they would make a disk less Xbox one since that would alienate them from retailers like gamestop, that being said we will likely see the rollout of their digital games marketplace.
I've said this already, the only reason halo anniversary used reach multiplayer was because Halo CE didn't have its own netcode and they said they would rather not build their own netcode, whereas halo 2 does have its own netcode
It's probably gonna be as meh as CE HD
what? this is stupid. it was literally the first game with a fancy new look
Can't wait to see them ruin Halo 2's aesthetic as well! And give it Halo 4's shitty multiplayer!
tbf Halo 2's aesthetic was just muddy slowly streaming textures
How about a new Conker title? Or if you want to play it safe Banjo-Kazooie? I know this might surprise Microsoft, but lots of people actually do remember these games and a sequel might sell some consoles. MAGIC!
the sad part is bad fur day 2 was nearing completion but microsoft wanted it to be on xbox 360 instead of the first xbox so chris seavor cancelled it
