I love subway but half an inch of bread I literally couldn't give less of a fuck about
Can we just let this shit die already.
The first photo is a joke.
wait what
I thought most subway stores got their bread from somewhere else (that's what some subway employee said in the last thread about this)
are they bullshitting again?
No, the bread is freshly baked.
Everyone can go to the GD thread if you want to learn about this stuff

Subway bread is allowed to be between 11 3/4" and 12 1/4"
Until she thinks you're a complete arse for measuring your sandwich and complaining about it.
And she very much will.
they freshly put frozen bread in the oven
Goes great with the large soda, chips, and cookies
Eat fresh!
I still enjoy the fact that subway kinda fought it at first saying "footlong" was a trademarked item not an exact measurement.

Oh and I'm totally bringing my ruler to subway whenever I go.

while making the employees mad
Guys that extra inch is serious business.
I mean if you eat a subway sammich every day for a while it adds up.
After just one decade you will have lost 304 sandwiches.

Great subway. give em an inch and they'll take a mile
It's funny what corporations say and do when they get caught with their pants down.
They knew perfectly well their sandwiches were undersized. When they bake their bread, they put the rolled dough in preformed molds. The franchisee gets these molds from Subway distribution, which has the things made in bulk for all of the stores. They likely had the molds made an inch shorter to save money form having to use less bread dough.
Another thing few people probably noticed is that around two years ago they reduced the size of their slices of meat by between 1/4 to 1/3. Some franchisees corrected for this reduction by adding extra meat slices to your sub, but many others just took advantage of this to make a bit of extra coin.

No, the bread pans are actually a full foot long. Several Subway employees confirmed that last thread we had on this. They didn't suddenly replace them all this week to be the right length. The smaller layer of paper they're wrapped in is a foot wide too, IIRC.
I actually got a sub a day or two after the news about it, and measured it. It was actually over 12 inches.

Nobody will ever go to Wich Which as they're obscure and are in horribly inconvenient locations.
Who the fuck measures their sandwich before they eat it? Does an inch even matter? You're still eating a fucking foot of bread with fillings in it. What difference does an inch make? You're not taking a dick.

I've never even heard of this place until his post :v:
Hopefully their new technique to make sure they are "the right size" isn't just "Squish(Squeeze) the buns a bit"
Also, I don't care myself if my sandwich from them is smaller, they are decently cheap anyways and they also don't take tips where I live!
Give her the bread.
She wants the B
They seem pretty good with feedback, I remember that whole ordeal over how to lay the cheese triangles on the bread for max coverage and they started doing that.
I had an internship at Subway, the breads come in frozen stiff, they're thinner than sausage rolls for christ's sake. I don't see the need to make a big deal out of this at all, it's nearly impossible to exactly control their size because of the baking process as far as I could see.
I thought they said that it was just the name of it, and that doesn't mean it's actually a footlong.
