Well, that's definitely one thing I can't appreciate about them if they're like that.
What about gay homeless people?
Thought of this
Thought of this
And where is his saviour Dr.Dick?
Well, that's definitely one thing I can't appreciate about them if they're like that.
Its not just mormons, but they do seem to do it a bit more often. And by a bit I mean a lot. They can be some of the nicest motherfuckers ever... but if they find that you're without hope of converting, they'll be done dealing with you faster than a shady gun deal gone bad.
What about gay homeless people?
There's no need to help, they can transform their boxes into homes.
they're not fucking pigeons
It's a joke, dude. He's making fun of the people that see them as animals.
So they're only doing this to save money? (Hopefully this doesn't end up a doublepost)
Utahn FPers represent in the thread! We should all meet up and go drinking one night.
Utahn FPers represent in the thread! We should all meet up and go drinking one night.
Drinking? In Utah?
Drinking? In Utah?
If only this was LMAO Pics, because this would be the perfect moment for the "Iiiiiiit caaaaaan happppennnn heeere" clip from The Last Dodo. I'm glad I got to post something positive for once. I always feel like I have to rate friendly all the Utah FPers who're apologizing every time I post a thread in SH about what their state's done most recently to shit on gay people. :v:
Utahn FPers represent in the thread! We should all meet up and go drinking one night.
we can all go on a trip to lake Utah and complain about all the BYU students polluting the lake
Drinking? In Utah?
What, you think I get my alcohol from inside state boundaries? I get the good stuff from Idaho, man.
I live in Eagle Mountain, which is one of the most conservative areas in Utah. They're too stubborn to let UTOPIA install fibre-optics in our city, which is why I'm still running 5Mbps D/0.6Mbps U speeds. I really hope our city can let up on the subbornness, because I want to experience those speeds for myself. Hell, I'd be willing to compensate TV just for internet alone with those speeds.
Here in Orem, I am planning to get Utopia :P
I hope this works int he long run. We have a program here in illinois that allows you to get really cheap housing based on income(down to $6 a month) but what's happened is that a large majority of people stay for years and years and never better themselves. As a result the waiting list is 6-10 years to get one. That means that you have to stay poor for an average of 8 years to get into one of these places. I know people who have been in them for 30+ years and never worked or anything. I like to say that's not a majority of people and only a few do that, but with this particular program that is not the case. I needed it once and they told me it would be 6 and a half years before they could place me so i had to stay at the shelter for a few weeks before i got a job, and didnt need it anymore
Actually, I've had more Jehovah's witness people come to my doorstep than Mormons in recent time.
Honestly, I'd rather have Mormons. Mormons are friendly, and if you just tell them "sorry, mad respect but I'm not interested" they usually say "OK, have a good day then" and go next door (at least, in my experience). JWs are stubborn and really fucking creepy.
Ok. Sensationalizing but thats a bit dehumanizing.
It's harsh, but if you want to help them that's how you do it. You don't support them, you help them support themselves.
Teach a man to fish and he eats for life. This is why I oppose government programs that educate people and give them skills.
what?
what?
I think it was a joke. [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline]
It's harsh, but if you want to help them that's how you do it. You don't support them, you help them support themselves.
They already can't support themselves.
I'm homeless, give me an apartment please.
Ok. Sensationalizing but thats a bit dehumanizing.
[t]http://coedmagazine.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/homeless-zoo-1.jpg%3Fw%3D600%26h%3D408[/t] "Don't feed the homeless"
Shame how the Utahn FPers live so far from each other. Live in West Jordan myself.
Ok. Sensationalizing but thats a bit dehumanizing.
A few cities around me act like homeless people are basically rats. if you give them anything, they will just learn to ask for more.
A few cities around me act like homeless people are basically rats. if you give them anything, they will just learn to ask for more.
The homeless in Seattle are mostly assholes. Sure you get the odd guy who's cool when you say "Sorry, all my money just went into things I need to get home", but I distinctly remember this ex-Marine who came up, asked me for a couple of bucks, and on hearing that I didn't have a couple bucks to give him, started ranting about how apparently serving the country wasn't good enough for me and I had no respect for the military and other such nonsense. So around here, we generally avoid them like the plague - not because we think its their fault, but because we don't want to get screamed at for not having an extra dollar in our pocket.
A few cities around me act like homeless people are basically rats. if you give them anything, they will just learn to ask for more.
I find that they just walk away.
That is a really smart way to save money.

They usually stay for about 30-40 minutes and never return, or occasionally come back for a lecture or two to hear the rest of what I have to say. I'd like to believe at the very least they were left with questions about their faith and comfort in a newfound alternative. They always have to leave at some point or another, out of personal discomfort or because they have to fulfill their 'quota' of canvassing the whole neighborhood.
