I can see where the boss is coming from. I don't agree, but I can see his position. This is an office job, so probably a formal setting. They would expect a certain air of maturity in the job, and talking about MLP and having it as a desktop background probably does not reek of maturity or professionalism in the workplace. Although the same could be said of having a cheer team as a background. So, I don't know.

One of my best friends irl is a brony. And you would never even know it unless you saw his laptop background or be around on the very rare occasions he brings it up. He also currently is working a full time job so he can help support his mother keep her house. Should he too be fired and possibly loose his house for just liking a show? How would you like it for one of your bosses came in and fired you for watching a show you enjoyed because your not the target audience?

Fired for being a brony? That's a very petty reason to fire someone. I mean the fanbase of the show can be very obnoxious and even creepy at times but again to fire someone over being a fan of the show is very petty.

This is dumb. To put this in perspective, imagine if he liked Doctor Who, had a Tardis as his desktop background, complemented his coworker's son on his dalek T-shirt, and then got fired because him liking Doctor Who made people uncomfortable. How would that make any kind of sense?
