Uh, perhaps I got my definitions wrong but doesn't 'casualty' indicate death? 30 wounded isn't half as bad as 30 dead
You're thinking of fatality.
Ban the fucking orange walks, they cause nothing but trouble.
Personally, I'm very much against banning people from doing things as a general solution to problems. In this case, I'd say that as long as the marchers don't do anything provocative, besides marching itself, then any problems are not being caused by the marchers but by the people protesting against them. Of course this is subject to the specific laws in the country, but really, who wants to live in a country where you can march only if people approve of what you are marching for? As long as they get the proper permits and such, what does it matter? It would be smarter for the anti-Orange people to just ignore them. Let them march while you go about your lives and show them that no fucks are given.
thread title says 30+ casualties? al-jazeera makes no mention, and the guardian says 39 injured, no casualties. where are you getting this number, Raserisk?
Casualties doesn't always entail deaths, it can mean incapacitated from injury also.
I would love to see a pride parade go through Ireland.
uhh what they do somewhat ironically without any riots to accompany them
Just a bit of an update, things haven't stopped and have gotten worse.
Policing bill expected to run to millions The policing bill for weekend disturbances around 12 July events is running to millions of pounds. Assistant Chief Constable Will Kerr described the behaviour of some rioters as almost animalistic. He said the behaviour of some of those involved in the trouble amounted to attempted murder.
http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0715/462482-belfast-riots/ I rang my relatives last night and they told me someone threw a brick at their window.
It's really not that bad most of the time it's just the 11th and 12th when everyone gets shitfaced and riots because they're bored
It's really not that bad most of the time it's just the 11th and 12th when everyone gets shitfaced and riots because they're bored
That makes it sound like the march is not really about anything, other than a holiday and an excuse to party. Sort of like the 4th of July here in the US.
