California gay marriage ban will now either go to the US Supreme Court, or be overturned immediately
California's legalization of medical marijuana in violation of Federal Law. I doubt it will "force" States to legalize gay marriage.
There are like hundreds of medical dispensaries in LA alone, the federal government would have to go in and shut down each one; there are only 50 state Constitutions unless we have some extra states lying around somewhere.
marriage is on the way out. it is discriminatory. some people can't get married because they can't keep a partner, as such one group gets benefits (those who are married) and one group doesn't (those who aren't married) which is discrimination. marriage is unconstitutional, tax benefits to one group and not the other, and marriage is a directly religious thing which doesn't belong in the government. everyone should be paying ALL of their taxes and the people should decide what it is spent on!
marriage is on the way out.
Not really quite honestly.
marriage is a directly religious thing which doesn't belong in the government.
No it isn't? Marriage as an institution predates religions and exists even in secular societies and atheistic cultures.
if this gets overturned then I have completely lost faith in america. that's it, I'm done. not surprised if the rapture actually happens on 21 dec this gay homo world has gone too far.
god gave us everything and instead of worshipping him we are putting our manhood up mens shitters

The Catholic church is opposed to homosexuality.

That doesn't change the fact that many people are told to hate gays.

One can only hope
Why cant people just accept gay people.
Why not just accept the way people are because of genetics, environment, ect, gays/bi's are not hurting anything, or "destroying the moral fabric of America". If I want to suck a dick, who cares, people are so touchy over shit like this still, astounds me.

yes, like *GASP* gay people get married and have hospital visitation rights

Maybe some of them are worshiping god by putting their manhood up men's shitters?
Maybe god is gay and is just really insecure about it(hence all the gay hate in the bible). Have you ever thought about that?
Wow. Jesus is gonna be fuckin pissed...

you do realize he is a troll, correct
yes, like *GASP* gay people get married and have hospital visitation rights
I can't wait for the day that homosexuals get equal rights so we can focus on the more pressing matters (hope it doesn't sound like I am marginalizing gay rights)
If gays are so wrong, then why does God keep making them?
I wish all of the bigots in this world would stop hating for two seconds and ask themselves that. I pray the supreme court refuses to hear this case.

Well I on the other hand went to school in Poland and the motherfucking teachers in religious classes were talking fucking shit like "Being Gay is a sin, it's just people not able to control themselves" holy fucking shit.
It annoyed, and still annoys the flying holy fuck out of he, damn.
Well at least I was exempt from said classes.

That depends on how the Supreme Court rules. They could rule that specific bans on gay marriage are unconstitutional, but still permit other means of preventing homosexual marriage (much in the same way as, in the past, black people were given voting rights and yet were still prevented from voting by the states,) or they could rule that anything preventing homosexuals from marrying is unconstitutional.
It's all in how they approach the case. Best case scenario is they find that marriage is a non-fundamental right which must be enforced equally among everyone, forcing everyone to either take the religion out of government-recognized marriage or stop giving benefits to married couples (the latter being unlikely, considering that would also require the federal government to stop recognizing all marriage--something they would presumably be unwilling to do.)

Also, California's medical marijuana laws haven't set any relevant national precedence. If the SC had ruled against it, those laws would be moot and gone. The disparity in that case between national and state law hasn't been reconciled.

My grandfather was talking to me about gay marriage the other day and what he said was very very true.
"I have no problem with gays, they don't bother me. But why do we have to use the term marriage? Why can't we have all the sanctity and protection of a civil union, but with a name other than marriage? That way opposers don't have to fear these 'un-godlies' to be encroaching on their personal rights"
Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?
