The full video addresses one of your previous questions, Zeke. Since the rear doors are fully electric, there are manual handles under the seats to get out.[/QUOTE]
So I assume the rear doors don't have the issue where the window needs to lower slightly for the door to clear the frame?

are there actually cars that can't open or close their back doors without the windows being lowered?
i didn't eve know that was a thing

I think it does.

How does the manual release lever not cause the window to break when you open the door then?

wait where are you getting this idea from
i know most cars with pillarless doors have windows that lower slightly so it's easier on the rubber seals, i've never heard of a car that requires you to lower the window to get out

Think that bit is mechanical once you pop the manual lever.

The problem with the freezing in cold weather appears to be the window physically being frozen all the way upright, thus not allowing for it to be closed properly.

Ah, so it will still open if the window can't lower? On the Tesla Motors Club forums a lot of people complain about not being able to get the door open because the window can't roll down, but they might just be experiencing the whole thing being frozen shut.

it should let you open the door, granted i've never been close to a tesla so maybe their doors are different than conventional pillarless.
i've got a pillarless door and when it gets really cold (like below zero F) the window doesn't lower when i open the door because it's frozen, but i can still get in and out fine.
I can report from experience that the door on a Model S opens fine on a typical afternoon of October in Ohio.
