I don't think employers have any business enforcing dress codes that stay in effect after the person leaves their property. Clothes/uniforms/"tie your hair back/remove piercings"/shit like that is fine.
So can I tattoo a huge cock in my forehead and then bitch about why it's discrimination that I didn't get hired.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing, frankly.
Employer may have just been having a bad hair day. Who knows?
No but an employer has no obligation to employ you so you better do as they say, it's not fair and I agree so, especially seeing as I have 3 large piercings and a mohawk but then it's life, bitching about it won't solve it.
Well the piercings can come out and you can simply choose not to style your hair in a mohawk during the work day as none of those are a semi-permanent change and don't affect you outside of work. But when an employer's dress code encroaches on how you look outside of work I have a problem with it.
There are lots of people who wouldn't buy a house from a black man but their opinion isn't given legitimacy.
And yeah, I would. If they were a good salesman and the house was what I wanted.
Presentation affects sales, you want to optimize sales and something minor like hair style or clothing can easily affect how people perceive you.
am i the only one who doesn't think they were unreasonable for firing him for having a mohawlk.
I'm pretty sure most businesses don't employ people with hairstyles like that.
He could have been their best worker, yet they kicked him out for a personal choice on style that is completely inoffensive.
I fail to say why his hair should matter.
No employer with any kind of money would sack some one like that, something else obviously happened.
This is Australia we're talking about
Yes but it's in accordance with the dress code at work.
That might also have to do with the atmosphere of the work environment - you probably wouldn't buy a house from someone with a mohawk.
The yankees bought a country from someone wearing one... :smug:

Yes but I am pretty sure employers can fire you with no reason aswell.

No, you obviously failed history.
I read it twice and I still don't get how this is related to sacks.

It's an expression for "Fired".
[editline]23rd December 2010[/editline]
Which is an expression for terminating someone's employment :v:.

US and UK law say they do not have to.

"Fired" expression always made me wonder how it was to come. Did they actually fire their employees or what.
You can't just assume something else happened without proof. Until we get another article we can only base our posts on what's there.
You can safely make that assumption if that country has laws against unfair dismissal.

They actually can't.
Maybe it looked like dog penis
A bit hair raising, don't you think?
Such is life in Julia's Australia.
People have been fired for less.
Hell, people have been killed of less.

K, argue about something in another part of the world that doesn't affect you but sure makes you made.

I'm so sorry for wanting to stick to the topic outlined in the thread

"Sacked" is another word for fired.
You shouldve googled it.
You fail.
Well he sure pushed it too hard, but I'm sure there's more to it, just like the rest said before.
