How exactly is it different?
Just because you can't "touch" intellectual property doesn't make it any less real.

Because it isn't theft, you aren't stealing anything, just creating copies of it.
I find it really disturbing that people think it's okay to pirate games. Big AAA developers aren't losing so much since their games sell really well first week of release but when people pirate game from small developers, when every single purchase matters, they're butchering their own industry and then they dare to rant about lack of original game.
I'm not saying that buying second hand is piracy in this post, it's a direct response to everyone who said that piracy is "fine".

You aren't stealing anything when you're trespassing either.

Since when was tresspassing a crime of theft?
If/When people buy a pre-owned game, no money goes to the developer, and they very, very likely won't buy it so that money goes to the developer, unless they lose their copy, but then they might buy a used copy again.

Tresspassing is not a crime of theft so no...
And what is your plan to stop piracy exactly?
Trespassing =/= Theft, as far as I know.
And what is your plan to stop piracy exactly?
Let's get some things straight.
I'm not trying to stop people from pirating, it's impossible. I want to stop people from thinking that piracy is "okay". It's not okay, you're more or less stealing profit from developers, it your choice to do it or not to do it, just don't say that it's "okay".

It's still a crime.
It's a crime and it's a crime for a reason. Buy the game if you want to play it, you have absolutely no right to just download it.
It's still a crime.
What relevance does that have?
What next? "Murder is a crime and piracy is a crime, so if you pirate something you are also guilty of MURDER!!!
I find it really disturbing that people think it's okay to pirate games.
I find it more disturbing that you equate the selling of used products (which is perfectly legal) with piracy.
It's still a crime.
Not all crimes are equally bad; that's his point.

Holy shit context and meaning go right the fuck by you don't they?
he said it isn't bad, it isn't bad. How the fuck is it bad? Has any company been bankrupted solely by piracy? What has piracy really done?
However, with that said, it isn't okay.
Too bad most PC users hate EA.
You might have a point there but it all comes down to how you define "potential profit".
From the technical standpoint, Guy A buys a copy of the game and everyhting that comes with it (support, server costs etc.) and then sells it to Guy B that gets everyhting instead of Guy A, but what is actually happening is that when Guy A gets tired of the game he sells his copy, that he wouldn't have used anyway, to Guy B that wants it, denying the profit to the developers.
Guy A goes to Guy B's house. Guy A plays a game that Guy B bought, finishing it in one sitting. Guy A doesn't feel like buying the game for himself (as he already beat it), denying the profit to the developers.
You said this:
No it's not, because you aren't getting that copy into your possession.
Your argument against selling used games is completely based on "potentials sales", so possession doesn't matter if a potential sale is lost.

Any argument on potential profit is generally bullshit. Far too many variables outside of just imagining one download = lost sale.
I think this, along with the next gen engines not running on current consoles, will help bring back another golden age for PCs
INTRODUCING NEW XBOX420 and PS4, NOW MORE MEDIOCRELY UNDERPOWERED.
I wouldn't say the PS3 was under powered, it's a very good console unless you're comparing it to the latest up to date computer you can buy, which only dedicated gamers can afford.
I find it more disturbing that you equate the selling of used products (which is perfectly legal) with piracy.
Just because your government tells you it's okay doesn't make it any better than pirating. There is literally no difference between buying a used game and pirating it.
If you want to support the developers you must buy it new, if you don't then don't play it.

then sell things at a price that is slightly more convenient to drive sales.
And I find it funny how many people are supporting the idea of not being able to sell property you legally own. I guess I can't play any games with my friends if they don't legally own the game, or take it to a party and play with lots of people? Is that just as bad?
And I find it funny how many people are supporting the idea of not being able to sell property you legally own.
If there's an infinite supply of it, it doesn't make sense to allow reselling it.
If there's an infinite supply of it, it doesn't make sense to allow reselling it.
So... I don't own a product I buy in that case. I see.
Why would I pay money for something I don't own?
If there's an infinite supply of it, it doesn't make sense to allow reselling it.
I think you're missing his point.
