Woah I just want a Dog.
Not now though.

Wow
Fuck those people, i wish i had an owl.
Jesus fucking christ
Humanity is fucking shit, really.
If I had the space/resources for an Owl I'd totally get one. I don't see how people can abandon their pets as a fad. I mean sure sometimes I hate clearing out cages and what not but you still have to do it as they're your responsibility. My Rabbit and 2 Degus are all so cute I could never "get rid of them".

Looks a bit like what a mix of Sandshrew and Sandslash would be.
In a perfect (Norwegian) world I would be rocking my moose by now

So you'd "take care of them"?

I put it in quotes because getting rid of them can mean a variety of things from abandonment or giving them up to a re-home centre. I guess if it isn't a circumstance to use quotes around that phrase I'll happily remove them.

Haha dont worry i was making a joke.
Evidently a very bad joke...
Not been awake long so my brain is still booting up, no worries mate. :v:
At least four species are also able to squirt an aimed stream of blood (see Autohaemorrhaging) from the corners of the eyes for a distance of up to five feet
fuck yeah pet blood mage
This happened with rats after Ratatouille came out, apparently the swedish pet rat rescue (yes, that actually exists) was overwhelmed with rats a few months later
And I thought I was just going to go through life with a kitty, bunny, or a turtle. Perhaps a small dog.
Not anymore. This thread made me want almost every animal posted. I know I probably wouldn't be able to care for most of them, but it'd still be awesome.
I don't think I'd do well with a bird, though. I'd prefer it if my pets could roam freely around the house, but then I'd have to worry about bird droppings everywhere.
I'm really disgusted with these people. At least I recognize that I'd be unable to care for most of my wishlist animals and don't plan on getting them for that reason alone.
This happens every time a movie with an animal in it comes out. People impulse buy an animal having no idea what taking care of an animal actually entails.
Oh, so that's why I wanted a penguin after watching March of the Penguins.
It's a really douchy thing to just abandon pets because of a fading fad.
I'd take one if I had a license. :downs:
I don't see people buying hedgehogs back during the Sonic the Hedgehog craze in 1991.

But they're so cute!
:c
Why would you throw away something like that?
Thats like having a real life pokemon, look at it! Its fucking cute!
Here in America it is pretty much illegal to have a pet Owl, but my Dad used to work for the Audubon Society so he helped raise a Snowy Owl that was abandoned when it's parents were scared out of their nest. The thing was absolutely adorable, but it made a huge mess, even as a baby. After a few weeks they had built a special shed for it and any other "abandoned" animals, so we didn't have to care for it anymore. I swear that thing produced at least 3 lb's of poop a day. It was pretty cute and cool to have though.

YESS
I may as well have a pair of racoons as pets. I feed local cats that have been abandoned but that I can't bring in, and now a mother racoon and her child have started eating the food as well and hanging out nearby. They don't go very far away, and they never have problems with the stray cats, so I just leave them be. There are also a lot of owls in the trees behind my home. I thought they were killed during the tornado in January, but they're back.
The same kind of thing happened when Finding Nemo came out. A bunch of people wanted to have the exotic fish as seen in the film, but didn't know how to take care of them.
It's stupid to things because you saw it in a film.
