I know the charges were dropped, but 10 years? You can get around that for murdering someone.
Why did you just reiterate the article?
The article said the evidence was iffy, I was saying that I thought it would be completely unusable.
I disapprove of how video becomes inadmissable if filmed secretly. Surely it makes it more reliable?
But then you have to do away with the whole 4th amendment and invade everyone's privacy, mostly innocent people too, so it just isn't worth it.
And modding isn't illegal as far as I knew, only when pirating comes into play, and neither witness proved he pirated, just modded.
Apparently it's illegal to circumvent the anti piracy features on the console, which he did when he modded them. Though i'm glad that the case god thrown out of court, trying to get him 10 years and getting evidence in an illegal fashion are both examples that this anti piracy crap is going too far.
10 years. Thats a life ruined. No offense but you 'mericans system sucks.

Here's the Bill of Rights. Which right does it violate?
Its up to 10 years in jail that doesn't necessarily mean he would of gotten 10 years; If he got anything it would probably be like 30 days in jail I bet or a fine.

It appears you have not read every Article.
The video tape violates article IV, I believe
Even if we assume a surveillance tape is a "search and seizure," it's irrelevant because the man who made the video was a private citizen.
He violated state privacy laws, not the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights protects citizens from Federal legislation, not each other.
If you don't want your device hacked, you actively stop hackers.
You can't stop the machine by rooting out the founder or leader, the community will continue to go about it's business.
And what? A ten year sentence for curiosity? It's not like these people are piracy enablers come on people. Shouldn't we be charging the people who make piracy software and not those who make simple mods?
I know a guy who asks for 60$ to mod your xbox
