• Police accidentally shoot 7-year-old girl in house search From The Detroit News

So she tried to grab his gun and caused it to accidentally discharge. And now she's blaming the police. What a bitch, she killed her daughter, not the policeman.
This is what happens when you have idiot women grabbing officer's guns, the wrong people die. So the blame here shouldn't be on the cop, but on the woman. May her soul rest in peace, and the real criminal face judgment.
What the shit? Also it could use some paragraphs. Hurts my eyes.
Guy kills your whole family. Police- "Sorry but things happen".
That's not an accident then, is it?
That has nothing to do with the woman causing the gun to discharge.
ACCORDING to POLICE that's why it discharged.. stop taking their word as fact.
You see your dad get killed by a speeding car right in front of your eyes and you see his mashed up body and his brain matter smudged all over the asphalt and hood of the car. "It's an accident, get over it," says people at your school. "Yeah, I guess you're right," says you.
Exactly. [editline]06:04PM[/editline]
Things happen. Wow. How'd you figure that out, Sherlock? Maybe next you'll tell us that that events occur?
I didn't have to figure it out. I'm so use to hearing about death by now it doesn't even phase me anymore. Sad fact, but true. And every time something like this happens I will indeed tell you that same thing, because knowing you, and other FP'ers, you'll react in the same exact way every time. "Oh no! How tragic! How could something like this happen?" Well people die all the time don't they? So why still act the same way after hearing about it over a hundred times already?
That has nothing to do with the woman causing the gun to discharge.
Thank goodness you aren't the PR guy for the police.
ACCORDING to POLICE that's why it discharged.. stop taking their word as fact.
So, it's either their word or the word of a crazy woman who tried to take a gun from an armed police officer. Which one would you pick?

When a cop fucks up and kills someone it should carry the same severity of sentence that a civilian would get for killing a cop.
Family members said they were told by police the gun discharged when Mertilla Jones, 46, attempted to wrestle away the officer's weapon.
Read the article carefully people before saying it was fully intentional. I consider this a much higher possibility rather than a cop being trigger happy with a 7 year old.
"Based on our intelligence, we got a search warrant for the location (on Lillibridge)," Godbee said. "Because of the violent nature of the crime, we thought we were entering a potentially dangerous situation."
It's also obvious that there may have been a false lead to their investigation or someone or something fucked up. It's understandable that they considered the belief that they were entering a very dangerous and hostile operation, hence the reason of bringing in dangerous weapons. Due to the confidentiality we aren't going to be told what the reasoning of the operation was.
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to side with the cops on this one until an investigation is done. It says they announced themselves as police (I know, people wouldn't hear it if they were asleep), and it also says that the woman tried to wrestle the police officer to the ground. Now, guns have trigger pull, but it doesn't take much if your finger is already on it to push it enough to fire, and I'm guessing the woman knocked his hand or something as they were tussling. But yeah, needs an investigation.
Sometimes the cops make shit up to just get a case over with, and end up arresting the wrong guy. Or in this case, saying the woman tried to wrestle the gun away. (don't rape me with dumbs if I didn't read correctly.) In the 80s or so, a dude was arrested for a rape and murder and stayed in jail for like 20 years even though he didn't do it, and the cops practically lied to just arrest someone to end the case. (Lawyers and other guys proved this by doing a DNA test on the victims clothes.) [editline]12:51AM[/editline] need to investigate this shit bla bla
I was gonna say how something like how this could happen but then I realized it was Detroit.
I don't blame her. Maybe she didn't hear the police, who knows. But unless you're Rambo, when you have a stun grenade explode on the floor in front of you, you're going to be disoriented. She was stunned and obviously couldn't think clearly with her ears ringing and the police yelling at her and her door being busted down, it must've been total chaos. Hell, in the confusion she probably didn't even know they were cops, she just saw somebody with a gun and jumped for it.
What where you doing watching Fox News? It's nothing but propaganda!
All news networks feature assloads of propaganda you fucking dolt.
ACCORDING to POLICE that's why it discharged.. stop taking their word as fact.
Who else is their to trust in the story? The crazy woman?
Picture this: You're sleeping, when out of fucking nowhere a stun grenade goes off in your house. Then you hear your door being kicked in. My first thought in this situation would be "Holy fuck am I dreaming?" followed by "OH SHIT SOMEONE JUST BROKE INTO MY HOUSE!" The police caused the chaotic situation here and it was their responsibility to control it, which they failed to do.
build a wall around detroit and set the city on fire [editline]10:24PM[/editline] yeah, a police officer fatally shooting a 7 year old.. no big deal.
Gun was discharged accidentally when the woman charged the police officer. How many times does it need to be stated that the officers didn't shoot the girl intentionally?
