City 8 - Polidicks - Facepunch Forum

All I have in terms of Outlands progress is this quick test I did. Its going to be loosely based off the Avatar "Pandora" look. The idea was that we would have Xen plants and foliage that look similar, mixed with forests and stuff. For instance, this is a tree for them: [img]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/half-life/en/images/thumb/f/fd/Xen_trees.jpg/800px-Xen_trees.jpg[/img] I'd say if you're going to include Avatar-esque trees, do it sparesly.

However Id rather assume theres more to Xen than the little we see in HL1, and be creative with the idea :P (...or maybe im just using it as a bad excuse to map pandora...)

That's a great idea Dave, but theirs one small problem. I thought this was supposed to be the surrouding areas of City 8? In District 9 the whole area was a wasteland, so therefore this area doesn't fit with the 08 theme.

However Dave likes to base things off of epic movies he sees and throw in those concepts so. ;)

[editline]10:37PM[/editline] I mean, I just don't feel this fits the HL2 style. But of course it looks much better than a boring wasteland.
