I think he might have the biggest sense of Confirmation Bias I've ever seen. Basically every real liberal supporter in a nutshell, Scare campaign, labor bias, need proof plz, It's all irrelevent cos it doesn't fit with my view.

People have fucking given you proof, can't you read?
Evanstr is not exactly being rational, but he kind of does have a point. For starters, fruxodaily's thread was incredibly misleading. fruxodaily's thread title read:
Aus Government looking at privatising Australia's Universal Health Care Service, Medicare, thinks it's a good idea for innovation
But his OP literally contained:
Medicare payments and other health benefits could be delivered by the private sector under a major shake-up being considered by the Turnbull government.
This is part of our commitment to ensuring the government embraces innovation and is agile and responsive to changes in the digital economy.
Ms Ley says that between Medicare, aged care and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, the government processes over $42 billion worth of payment transactions every year but departments haven't kept up with new technologies.
And the new President of the AMA called Labor out on their bogus claims:
The new head of the Australian Medical Association has dealt a blow to Opposition Leader Bill Shorten's claim the Government wants to privatise Medicare.
Key points:
- Dr Gannon dubs Medicare's payments system "rusty" and "antiquated"
- AMA says evidence doesn't stack up to support Labor's claims Medicare would be privatised
- Dr Gannon pleased with Labor's plans to unravel the freeze on rebates
Mr Shorten's assertion is based on the fact the Government had been considering outsourcing what Dr Michael Gannon has dubbed Medicare's "antiquated" and "rusty" payments system.
He said privatising the payments system "in no way" amounted to privatising Medicare, as Mr Shorten has claimed.
"I've never seen, and nor do I see, a proposal to potentially privatise the payments system as … a way to privatise Medicare," Dr Gannon said.
"The evidence just doesn't stack up.
"We also understand how important Medicare is to voters and that's why it's such a potent claim from the Labor Party but the AMA will always call governments to account, they will call oppositions to account."
You are innocent until proven guilty, so.. Proof?
Bradyns literally posted shit from humanservices.gov.au, a government website.
How is that not proofs for you?
Fuck you're delusional

If you knew anything about medicare or current politics you will know exactly what he said was not relevant at all to current claims by labor, it why I did not respond to what he linked to because I have Seen those sources before.

And personally for me what I want done In Australia is proper recognition for the Tech industry(Programming) there is none.

They are provisions, that had the senate agreed, would have been passed as part of the budget.
That makes them very much relevant to their claims.
Those sources are governmental services though - they have to act on such legislation and have a prerogative to provide such information to those who access their services.
Another day, and a few more results.

I have a very strong feeling that the Governor-General may have to recall an election. With neither side having enough to form government, it's quite clear that he's probably going to be meeting with the Federal Executive Council and maybe even the High Court in regards to the whether either side will have enough votes to confirm supply in the house of representatives or the legality of such a recall of an election.
I feel bad for all of the AEC returning officers and volunteers because they're the ones who are going to have to recount all of the votes, including the pre-polls and postal votes on Monday in which may end up being the exact same result.
Postal votes will be finished counting on Tuesday - so most of what you describe will be further into the week.

I have to ask, do you think the conservative right of the Liberals may be so disillusioned from the party that they may have lost faith in Turnbull? Could we see a return of Abbott?
so even when there's an election you guys can't bother to have people work on the weekend?
so even when there's an election you guys can't bother to have people work on the weekend?
well our election was on saturday (yesterday for us), sunday is usually a day they get off I think

Sunday is when Declaration votes (interstate, absentee, and provisional) get sorted by the receiving divisions DRO, then sent to their respective division for actual counting.
I'm pretty sure no red envelopes are actually opened today
That, and some of my former co-workers are on today for more counting/sorting
Edit:
Yeah, just got a response back from one of them on what today involves:
"Postals, absentee, and silent votes are sorted, and marked off the certified rolls today, then sent into the main cities in australia tonight/tomorrow. Sorted into correct electorates monday night/tuesday morning, then a total count of every vote is done, and checked again until the 15th.
BUT if it's hung parliament like it is right now, we go back to the polls"

Oh boy wow, so we might not even know for 2 more weeks?! This has got to be one of the closest elections yet

Keep in mind we're a country where the national dish is a sausage in a slice of bread
Liberal has won, Look at the stats closely.
I dont deny it. Im saying its rich of you to declare this a victory for 'democracy' so soon. The democratic process will not be over til tuesday
As for sourcea you are being given news and throwing it away like garbage so whats the point right

If you had read labors policies, then you would have seen that it included a policy to give better representation for women in the tech industry and more funding for startups.
Whereas liberals are going to do....what for tech industry? Name me policies
As a programmer and sysadmin myself it was a good reason for me to preference labor.

Postal votes are still accepted up to 13 days after polls close so that's why the wait is so long.
Labor is shit
Liberals are shit
Hung parliament is shit
What a stupid election
Blame people who draw dicks on their ballots.

We had the highest vote for third parties ever so we are on our way
I just love that the people rejected Turnbull's pathetic scare campaign about voting Labor/3rd party and said fuck you its our democracy
I just love that the people rejected Turnbull's pathetic scare campaign about voting Labor/3rd party and said fuck you its our democracy
Calling a double dissolution was such a pathetically bad strategic move its almost laughable
Like I'm pretty sure the senate crossbench is even bigger now and also more insane
it got PAULINE HANSON in, my god
If it goes to a re-vote what stops people from just voting the same?
If it goes to a re-vote what stops people from just voting the same?
A couple more weeks of electioneering in marginal seats!

As if that should be a government concern.
As if that should be a government concern.
Well it's not my primary concern, but tech policies was that guys
Representation of women in tech is a problem that needs to be addressed though

We dont need unfair funding to help women out, that is unprogressive. What we need is both political parties actually not being fucking retarded when it comes to programming.
There is zero award anywhere when it comes to tech, if you go to https://www.fairwork.gov.au/ The only thing that comes up even slightly related to a programming role is telecommunications, They need to fix this and Realise programming in time will make every other job practically obsolete and its just a matter of time.
And yes I know liberals one of there biggest short comings to me is tech, but as time goes on and younger liberals start going up the chain it will get better (same for labor).
Seriously what retard thinks the renewable energy industry is actually going to generate new jobs? Its going to displace jobs and not create any.

I know I don't have permission to talk about the politics of other colonies, but I'm rooting for labour.
Pauline hanson was actually my second preference :v::goodjob:
There was also the whole non-christian social workers no longer receive funding from the government that no one ever seemed to mention.
That was huge, I used to work in schools, knew a lot of really good social workers that really made a difference, they will have either lost their jobs or put enormous pressure on their schools budget in order to stay.
That and religion has no place in schools.

Evanstr is one of those people that owns a german army uniform or a gasmask, follows anything that appears to have power and order while being oblivious to actual data and having no critical thinking skills whatsoever.
Renewable energy gives plenty of jobs and growth.
There are a lot of studies about it just google it.
Here's an article with a bunch of real world results http://www.renewableenergyworld.com/articles/2015/01/fact-sheet-renewable-energy-job-numbers.html
They have their reasons for not implementing renewables, it's all to please the mining industry.
