rusty missed a type of lib voter, the smug shit who takes a marginal victory for his side as life affirmation
and shy's away from providing any sort of response when challenged. They need to grow a fucking backbone or shut up about it completely. Yes, in the past Labor has done bad, paid for it dearly when facing a royal commission and accepted they needed to make change. Yet, when the Liberals have done bad, not a single peep came out from anyone calling for a royal commission on them. It's shit like this that makes me all for a federal level ICAC. Completely run by the judiciary, without any overreaching / overruling power from either the executive or the legislative. They say there's some sort of "separation of powers" enforced within the federal parliament, I sure don't see it now.
.... How do you know everyone that votes liberal is a Bogan, A racist ad a "yuppie" you branding everyone which does not agree with you as this. Other labor supporters is this how you all think? I highly doubt it, I would say 5% at most of labor could be this ignorant.
i am not labor either friend i am a greeny boy
Can a Liberal voter tell me why they voted liberal, I feel like I'm missing out on something, i'm not going to argue anyone, just interested.
i am not labor either friend i am a greeny boy
Sorry for jumping to the conclusion you are labor, Seeing as you are green, Does most of greens hold your view? [editline]10th July 2016[/editline]
Can a Liberal voter tell me why they voted liberal, I feel like I'm missing out on something, i'm not going to argue anyone, just interested.
Voted Liberal to keep immigrants(illegal) out, Build stronger economy through support of business and due to the lies labor spun about medicare. also I personally hate labors attempt to control everything, I want hands off style government.
ahh, cool, so you'd fall in the racist AND business catagory
Can you tell me how Stoping illegal immigrants is racist? and can you tell me how business category makes me bad ? I want Jobs created for industry that is in need, not failed propped up industry made jobs.
Can a Liberal voter tell me why they voted liberal, I feel like I'm missing out on something, i'm not going to argue anyone, just interested.
First of all, I would like to say I didn't put them first. For the House I had an independent and a Green before the Nationals candidate, and for the Senate I had the Science Party, Sex Party, NXT and Greens before the Liberals (followed by the Nationals). But I did preference the Coalition before Labor in the House, and didn't preference Labor at all for the Senate. I was absolutely appalled by Labor's scare campaigning at this election. Yes, the Liberals did a bit of scare campaigning as well by saying a vote for Labor is a vote for instability, but Labor's attacks were unprecedented (blatant lying). I didn't know much at all about Labor's policy because they were too busy with attacking hypothetical situations involving a returned Turnbull government instead. On policy I knew about, I support the Coalition's stance on negative gearing, as any changes to negative gearing would see state revenues decline, leading to a higher chance of the GST being broadened or increased (especially as the premiers are already asking for that). For the House in particular, I live in a safe seat. I despise the idea of safe seats. There's a saying I'll paraphrase: Money only falls from swinging seats. My division has been held by Labor for a hundred years, and Labor don't even need to try to win the seat; they just always do. Meanwhile in a neighbouring division, which is a marginal seat, Labor promised a huge infrastructure project if they won the seat and governance. It's like how the first areas to get NBN were all in marginal seats.
Can you tell me how Stoping illegal immigrants is racist? and can you tell me how business category makes me bad ? I want Jobs created for industry that is in need, not failed propped up industry made jobs.
yet you support an additional $48 billion in tax cuts for the top 1%, in which most of that goes over to foreign investors? The last 3 years have shown that trickle-down economics isn't working as intended. "Hands-off style government"? Yet supported the NSLA (National Security Legislation Amendment) that basically becoming an affront to civil liberties when private businesses not even related to national security are getting approvals to find out where internet users are from, even on websites non-related to their business, by scouring metadata? Or how it continues to "prop" up the mining sector even though that's already been on the decline, even before the Liberal-National coalition even took power in 2013? How they torpedoed the Gonski reforms in which even those within the Education sector have claimed and proven time and time again that such reforms are needed for our public schools, both primary and secondary? (yet private independent schools get some small amount of funding from the federal government)? Or how the Liberal-National coalition still continues to spend $200 million on state-sponsored chaplains in which some of the printed media they give out actively promotes hatred and bullying against LGBTQ students? Or how the government deliberately scrubbed details on the health of the Great Barrier Reef in order for it not to be put on an in-danger list by UNESCO, even though they're not doing anything at all meaningful to even begin the rehabilitation of the reef? Or how about how it's constantly trying to stop some from reporting the horrific abuses of human rights on detention centres, so much as to refuse any sort of International Criminal Court or even the UN request to inspect them, and when they do, hastily cover everything up? You're grasping at straws here. It sickens me how we can treat people in need so harshly, whether it be people here already (the homeless) and those who are not (refugees and immigrants), all because of "national security". Detaining people for years is not going to get them to behave. They have nothing & just want to start over. Government policy should be more thorough in regards to proper screening and them completely understanding and accepting that our country is different in society and legal system, and that what was okay back home is definitely not okay over here. At the end of the day, they should be at least be able to settle. Preferably in places not imbued by nationalists and bigots. Assumptions always end bad.
I was asking how not wanting illegal Imigrants makes me racist :speechless:
I was answering your previous claims, none of which you have even provided a response for, even the ones a few pages back. The way you are processing refugees is both unethical and against human rights treaties in which we are a signatory of, in which any legalities apply to us as we ratified the treaty in 2002, by John Howard nonetheless. If you had bothered to read my edit on that post you'd understand what I am trying to explain.

And a few pages ago I wanted people to link me to some stuff they claim so I can personally read into it(So hopefully my mind can be changed if i was misinformed or lied to.), I am not 100% always liberal and it disgusts me people instantly Think that because I support them I instantly support everything they do or think(which is not the case) Liberal has a few points I support and they have more things I support than say Labor or greens, Its why i vote for them.

I linked sources to them and didn't even get a response. It'd be much less tense in this thread if you had given some sort of response on what points you do support and the one's you don't. That's why you've had other users constantly asking for an explanation.

I mean a specific plan the libs put forward hat you support and the reason why you do
I hope come next election some of the parties can come to their fucking senses and not go after the firearms community as much as the Greens, Labour, Liberal, Justice Party, etc do. I'm sick of the only people doing anything for them being backwards parties like one nation and shit. Firearm owners shouldn't be forced to vote for these shitty parties for their sport and hobby to survive. [editline]10th July 2016[/editline] And in saying that, I feel as if I need to add that I'm not saying these parties need to opt for a US-style 2nd amendment. I just want them to either leave it alone or give us more options within a certain limit. Something like New Zealand's laws would be nice. [editline]10th July 2016[/editline] I think Labor, hell, even the Greens could have gained a lot more support if they stop going after groups in ways that are unnecessary.
So, is this now a Minority Government?

Its a terrible system where no one gets heard, and the safe spots just get walked over. The scare campaign was an absolute nightmare and I was yelling at the TV for days.
PM'd
Why not put it here instead? I'm also interested.
I'm in a very similar situation, another dead labor seat.
Why not put it here instead? I'm also interested. I tend to agree, safe seats help nobody but the party.
Mainly to spare the flamers, and the "What about this issue?!" backlash if you don't mention every single policy and why they're good or bad. Happy to PM as I've got it in a poorly articulated text file.
damn i was hoping the sex party woudl win, too bad maybe next time. pls dont fuck us up mr turnball
damn i was hoping the sex party woudl win, too bad maybe next time. pls dont fuck us up mr turnball
sex party has no hope outside Victoria or really anywhere
sex party has no hope outside Victoria or really anywhere
I like how each state has its own 'predominant' minor party. NSW has (had) the Liberal Democrats QLD has One Nation VIC has Sex Party SA has NXT TAS used to have Greens but they're national now Who knows what WA has

If you had bothered to read my edit on that post you'd understand what I am trying to explain.
It's understandable that seeing pictures of places like Afghanistan and Sri Lanka where most 'refugees' are fleeing from it's understandable to see why one would leave. How true is it that they are genuine refugees and what is Australia's scope in catering for these 'refugees'? For one thing the general concept of a refugee is fleeing to the closest point of safety and in many Australians' mind, fleeing for hundreds and hundreds of miles from your original location does not really make you a refugee per se but more like a 'country shopper'. Despite being a signatory of the Geneva Conventions, I believe that Australia can choose not to follow them as we are a sovereign nation and by making our nation bounded to these unreliable, unworkable agreements we are compromising the security and sovereignty of our nation.
I like how each state has its own 'predominant' minor party. NSW has (had) the Liberal Democrats
lol on an incorrect vote
Welp, we have a half retarded government for the G20, fan-fucking-tastic.
Election 2016: Herbert called for Labor, but close vote means recount to follow. The ABC election computer has called the seat of Herbert as a gain for the Labor Party, but the incredibly close vote count means there will be a full recount in the seat. Both parties have been saying the contest is too close to call. Labor's Cathy O'Toole leads incumbent Liberal MP Ewen Jones by just eight votes. It was the last undecided seat in the federal election.
Coalition still doesn't have the 76 - this is an astoundingly long winded election
Doesn't matter really though, with either a majority / minority government (they are Government regardless), Libs have a tough job convincing Australians about their policies.
