how are the greens doing my friends
Melbourne - HOLD Batman - TOO CLOSE Higgins - LNP HOLD Wills - ALP HOLD PREDICTION: Possible gain in Batman, GRNS to get 2 seats [editline]2nd July 2016[/editline]
Australians have voted for a bunch of fucking idiots once again. God fucking damn it, shows me for having faith in the Australian people.
more like QLD, the fact ON got so close to getting seats is very very concerning
Australians have voted for a bunch of fucking idiots once again. God fucking damn it, shows me for having faith in the Australian people.
Don't be like that. You can't control peoples opinions and particularly in rural areas labor and greens are definitely a lot weaker on connecting to the electorate. It's sad, but its the truth. We're looking at a hung parliament after one term. That's a good result. First term governments have historically always won a second term. Even gillard did. A hung parliament is the absolute best that labor could have hoped for this election and they're likely going to get it
seems like every country is doing this somehow, i dont think australians are uniquely stupid. all people are
very big movements on both the left and right causing rips in mainstream politics only going to get worse
when will people finally make me emperor of earth so i can choose all the best leaders
when will people finally make me emperor of earth so i can choose all the best leaders
the day that <insert film director> becomes a reasonable politician [editline]2nd July 2016[/editline] ABC prediction for Batman is ALP retain currently on preferences. I agree with that. It's unfortunate but its a green retain of one seat nationally. Close though. Di Natale should not have attempted a preference deal with the libs. It damaged them irreparably.
I'll call it to ALP too but with slight hope going to greens

Can ABC ditch this fucking stupid prediction voting thing
Can ABC ditch this fucking stupid prediction voting thing
Yeah its fucking ridiculous. Guardians poll is WAY more reliable. But I think the prediction may end up being accurate but its hardly helpful
ABC for opinions, Guardian for actual results
Antony green has never gotten a result wrong though - but even he's admitting he's got no idea
This LNP guy on ABC is a tosspot.
This is amazing to see.
Labor candidate Linda Burney claimed victory in the Federal seat of Barton at 7:30pm on election night, becoming the first female Indigenous MP in the House of Representatives. The NSW seat is located in Sydney’s inner-south and has historically been marginal. Ms Burney won the seat off Liberal MP Nickolas Varvaris, who won the seat from Labor at the last federal election.
This LNP guy on ABC is a tosspot.
...you mean the treasurer?
Good on you Linda, excited to see your performance
WA results will be interesting because we normally vote Liberal but lately our Liberal state government have been a pile of shits that wasted the mining money.
Julie bishop in my electorate seems to be winning by miles.
...you mean the treasurer?
Yes.
Julie bishop in my electorate seems to be winning by miles.
welcome to safe seats Gotta give it to Ball, gave O'Dwyer a run for her money for sure
welcome to safe seats Gotta give it to Ball, gave O'Dwyer a run for her money for sure
Perth has quite a few "Safe seats" from the looks of it.
Yeah, if not for preference deals, Greens have done fantastically. A shame about not winning seats, but hey - as ABC have been saying Di Natale is in it for the long haul and this is a huge mandate for him
ok im confused but ALP have less seats than LNP are WE FUCKED???
ok im confused but ALP have less seats than LNP are WE FUCKED???
Well ALP needed to pick up 19 seats to win. That's a herculean effort. They've picked up probably at least 8, so we are much less fucked than we were
Yeah, if not for preference deals, Greens have done fantastically. A shame about not winning seats, but hey - as ABC have been saying Di Natale is in it for the long haul and this is a huge mandate for him
Greens can sleep happy tonight, they've shaken up a fair few seats, next election it looks like it could be very serious Senate wise, i think they'll grow
Can't wait for my electorate, safest non-labour seat in Australia and has been non-labour since federation :pudge:
Greens can sleep happy tonight, they've shaken up a fair few seats, next election it looks like it could be very serious Senate wise, i think they'll grow
ABC is saying they've lost a seat but I have no idea how they would predict that in the senate
Is Mike Baird still the Premier of NSW?
Is Mike Baird still the Premier of NSW?
Literally why would that change
Literally why would that change
I don't know, don't pay attention to Elections much, so I don't know if that position is set to change during these elections.
i dont know how all this works but all i know is ABC is saying libs have way more seats and i'm confused are we def. fucked? 73-66
I don't know, don't pay attention to Elections much, so I don't know if that position is set to change during these elections.
This is federal, not state
i dont know how all this works but all i know is ABC is saying libs have way more seats and i'm confused are we def. fucked? 73-66
No, this is a good result for labor, they will not form government but the resultant government will be a minority govt which is good for aus
