Breaking news Microsoft discovered the existence of the word One
Still hasn't understood what it actually means though.
Is Windows 9 gonna be called Onedows?
onedowns
"We believe the new OneDrive name conveys the value we can deliver for you and best represents our vision for the future."
One is not a very good value. It can also mean a lot of things, like having "One" choice. I don't want an all-in-one future, I want choice dammit!
Funny, OneDrive is trademarked in Portugal, although in a different business field.
This.
If windows wants me to use it more it needs to feel more natural in the windows environment. Make it act like a drive instead of yet another dropbox thing.
I may have read your post wrong, but I know how to access your skydrive with a network drive.
This method works for windows 7 and Windows 8(.1). There's a Similar method in XP that involves a network FOLDER, not drive. Not sure about vista though.
1. Log into https://skydrive.live.com
2. Click on a random folder.
3. In the url, you should see something like .../?mkt=en-US#cid=XXXXXXXXXXXX&id=YYYYYYYYYYYYY
4. Copy the part where the Xs should be.
5. Go to "This PC"/"My PC"/Whatever
6. Create a new network drive
7. \\d.docs.live.net@SSL\xxxxxxxxxxxx (You have to change all the letters to lowercase for it to work)
8. Enter your Microsoft Account Login/Password
9. Congratulations! Your skydrive is now Z:\!
Note: The blue bar that represents amount of space being used doesn't work, it just copies it from the C:\ Drive.
TBH I like ...onedrive.. more than the alternative cloud storage providers anyways. Plenty of free storage, works really well, etc.

Only works with two-step verification disabled, app passwords result in a "You're not allowed to do that" error (and no, it's not a "wrong password" error)
Wonder what they'll rename OneDrive to.
