Seems every country is starting to get this except mine
Why is Canada always embarrassingly mediocre when it comes to absolutely everything
Malaysian legislation provides for a mandatory death penalty for convicted drug traffickers. Individuals arrested in possession of 15 grams (1/2 ounce) of heroin or 200 grams (seven ounces) of marijuana are presumed by law to be trafficking in drugs
wow malaysia
Yes Mike Barton, you beautiful man, we should decriminilase drugs, finally someone talking fucking sense again.
And they're a country with hookah bars on the open street ffs
You don't really know what you smoke in a hookah, do you?

Decriminalisation implies keeping them in a black market (gifting revenue making products to the gangs) and continuing to fail to regulate them properly.

Well fully legalise, either one is an improvement really.
They really need to reclassify LSD.

It operates similar to a bong therefore must be the same right...right? (Enough Sarcasm to sink the fucking Titanic)
The war on drugs here in the UK has been bizarre, cannabis was reclassified twice within the last like ten years, firstly being downgraded because of new research and studies, and secondly being reupgraded because of ?????. It's not quite as extreme as in the US, and certainly among the younger generation (ie mine) weed is seen as almost exclusively neutral or even good (although you do get the twats who insist there's literally nothing negative about excessive usage of it). Other drugs are normally seen more negatively by the general public, and treated even more severely by the police. Weed's always seemed like somewhat of a variance based on the police you've been caught by; a kid at my school was found with it and only got let off with a stern warning.
i've been caught with it 3 times and never taken to a police station over it. Most police already recognise that arresting some kid for smoking a joint by the river is a waste of every bodies time, a fair amount of them turn a blind eye to it to avoid the hassle it causes everyone.
sometimes i have to fight to keep a real big rip in my lungs without coughing thats kind of a war on drugs
why would you ghost the smoke as long as possible that's disgusting
[editline]29th September 2013[/editline]
in some places, it's called 'ghosting' when you keep the smoke inside your lungs for as long as possible, to the point where almost nothing comes out when you exhale. I find it disgusting.
hahaha what weed is in the same category as heroin in the US?
Yeah. It's quite stupid, isn't it?
-snip- omg
suggested that the NHS could supply drugs to addicts
Christ... that's just not a viable treatment at all..
It's not like Nicotine addiction.

Like anybody in North Korea would even be able to access cannabis :v:

yeah..

As someone who knows about Methadone treatment all hard drug treatment would go the same way: go get prescription from clinic, ring person who has supply of drug to get more, rinse and repeat.
Oh no money to buy more? Well maybe you can make a quick buck whoring or stealing. Only difference is now its partially legally supplied everyone will go "oh well that's that, they will get better in no time" and addicts will continue to get screwed over. And since the black market trade is reduced prices will skyrocket leading to worse situations for some addicts as they try to scrounge money.
All this guys plan does is push drug use from "nasty criminals" into "happy treatment option"
Anyone with an understanding of the situation past "OH DA WEED IS FREED" should realise this is sweeping the problem under the rug to artificially improve crime rates and let the NHS deal with the massive number of people in treatment.

Just wondering? Why is it disgusting? It's just like if you were to smoke normally except you'd smoke more :v:
hahaha what weed is in the same category as heroin in the US?
all of it.....
its also classified higher than cocaine...which is like.....very bad and very useless today as opposed to when it was first classified when it was still very rarely used as an extreme pain killer and local anesthetic
i think personally pot should be legalized because we do know about medial uses that no other drugs can really reproduce, however stupid it sounds, the munchies are very helpful for people suffering from AIDs because it forces them to have an appetite, something few drugs can do, while also provides pain relief and such. also there is no way to stop the drug cartels but if we took out the easy to make stuff, then it'll take a hit in them in the long run
[editline]29th September 2013[/editline]
also theres the problem with the massive amount of treaties that have been built up over the years, each one would have to be altered and ageed upon by all parties along with each individual countries laws regarding the substance in question. its kinda like how our tax system here in the u.s. is never going to be adressed because its all one tangled web of fuck-ups
I'm always as baffled when I think about how drugs like morphine are legally used for medical purposes and weed is not :v:

I thought cannabis was legal for medical use
I thought cannabis was legal for medical use
Depends on where you live.
I thought cannabis was legal for medical use
Only in a few places. Even then, the feds sometimes raid such areas despite state laws.
Just wondering? Why is it disgusting? It's just like if you were to smoke normally except you'd smoke more :v:
Well, it's your lungs that's all.
But I guess it spares your lungs a little bit (no scientific proof) if you don't absorb all of the smoke all the time, like the ghost that you are. :v:

its a joke

it makes black people go wild and deflower innocent white women it's dangerous
They should offer something sort of like signing up to be an organ donor where you can use drugs but can't have welfare or public health insurance. Like it says your "drug status" on your ID. Then they could offer harsher penalties for using or selling illegally, and drug users wouldn't be a drain on health insurance. They can get their own, appropriately more expensive insurance.
