Red Jacket Firearms for example is a real company and all the people there are the real employees. Now things like Man versus Wild or Dual Survival or the like are heavily scripted. They create a number of theoretically possible situations and show how you could handle them.

It doesn't say what is fake about it. The show follows 2 different groups at 2 completely different times. I don't see whats different about this show or the dozens of other shows that simply film what is going on. NatGeo has many many documentaries like this and Discovery had that show with the bald dude filming home invasions, crack dens, meth production etc etc. Sounds like ABC is trying to cover their asses because they can't crack down on the moonshine trade.

Explain that show where a guy travels around studying drugs and you actually see how to make shit like meth, crack, steroids and other shit.
