Washington DC gives Christians middle finger ; upholds gay marriage

For once Washington does something right.
Good, though I'm still disappointed that my state legalized discrimination against homosexuals.
Plus Christians who are out against gays are not true Christians; Jesus in the New Testament (what Christianity is technically based off) taught tolerance for all people. True, they consider homosexuality to be a sin, but they're supposed to tolerate it and love those who practice it regardless.
A lot of christians consider Liviticus a retarded document too.
How does a christian support gays?
He's a closet intellectual.

Is that supposed to be shock humor? Because the only thing that's shocking is how many people keep laughing at the same joke over and over.

Fair enough then. I could debate his intentions by saying that, but too many people before me have already tried that.
Washington DC is not a state.
:downs:
I read the title 'Washington DC gives Christian Bale the middle finger".
When you mentioned Washington I thought you guys just passed a bill that legalized gay marriage nationwide. I was ready for the best fucking shitstorm in history.
As if. The US is at least 20 years behind in social policies.
Washington DC is not a state.

It's a seperate jurisdiction that doesn't belong to any state. It's not like if a town decided to allow gay marriages because they felt like it.
This is a list of all the benefits that straight couples get, compared to gay couples.
Note that if you are in a same-sex marriage in one of the five states where same-sex marriage is allowed (Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont) or a domestic partnership or civil union in any of the states that offer those relationship options, none of the benefits of marriage under federal law will apply to you, because the federal government does not recognize these same-sex relationships. For example, you may not file joint federal income tax returns with your partner, even if your state allows you to file jointly. And other federal benefits, such as Social Security death benefits and COBRA continuation insurance coverage, may not apply.
Even if states allow same sex marriage, the government itself still denies marriage rights to homosexuals.
Even then, the government should still force all states to recognize gay marriage. The only argument against it is religion, so they're violating separation of church and state. I hate my country.

It's also not considered to be part of any state, so meh.
Wait some Christians don't care about gays.
There are people who are just against it because its not normal and its a mutation that doesn't in reality help the species in anyway.

Religion isn't the only argument, but it's the largest one.
Good to hear.
How does a christian support gays?
A loose Christian. Not an extremist.
Religion isn't the only argument, but it's the largest one.
It's the only argument that actually somewhat works and can't be discredited instantly.
Religion isn't the only argument, but it's the largest one.
Do tell what other arguments there are.

loose or extreme, how do you support gays
A loose Christian. Not an extremist.
I still don't understand how Christians can believe in god and the bible, yet pick and choose which parts to listen to, which parts are supposed to be a "moral lesson" and which parts are supposed to be fact. Honestly, it's so ridiculous.

I don't really pay attention to things like that. All that i do is slightly believe in a God and Heaven and that sins can be forgiven.

.
Do tell what other arguments there are.
It's not natural :downs:
Which is funny to say, because animals do it, and homosexuality has been around since humans have been around, since humans came from animals.
I don't really pay attention to things like that. All that i do is slightly believe in a God and Heaven and that sins can be forgiven.
I don't really pay attention to things like that- So you risk your all eternal soul as you believe it to be, on "I don't really pay attention to things like that."
All that i do is slightly believe in a God and Heaven and that sins can be forgiven.- How the fuck do you slightly believe something? It's like saying I slightly believe in Santa Clause, makes no fucking sense.
Ain't no where in the bible does it say you can pick and choose which parts to listen to, so either you don't believe it, or you completely lack sense. If I believed that there was an eternity of hellfire waiting for me unless I followed some arbitrary rules from a book, you damn well better believe I would follow that shit to the letter.
that's still only 5/50 states that allow this. That's only 10 %.
one in ten humans are gay
one in ten states allow gay marriage
i sense a pattern
