No choice but to believe it's fake.
gayben probably isn't happy
you bet, im pretty sure hes going to go full force and ban him from ANYTHING valve related.
Fifth post in this thread.
A screencap of the thread isn't much. I was speaking for actual media of the game or it's bullshit.
A screencap of the thread isn't much. I was speaking for actual media of the game or it's bullshit.
gee, that would be hard to get from a resume
I thought it was common knowledge that a fourth game was in the works? The fact that they never denied that is was in development made that pretty obvious.
I hear a storm outside my house and then see info of Half-Life 3. These must be the end times. :ohdear:
Maybe, just maybe if we stir enough shit up, Valve will come up with an awesome marketing campaign and show off Ep3.
Don't they close every thread related to EP3 in SPUF? Besides the post has no proof whatsoever of anything, yeah a guy left Valve but anyone could check that info.
If this isn't fake then chances are we'll see HL3 within a year. (5 years of development time should be long enough..)
Why does the name ryuuk sound so familiar
If this isn't fake then chances are we'll see HL3 within a year. (5 years of development time should be long enough..)
HL2 took 5
HL2 took 5
It was leaked.
It was leaked.
Didn't effect it that much.
HL2 took 5
then it should be revealed some time after DOTA 2 (but we arent even getting any info on it, so i dont know if itll even come out this year.)
Too be honest I think this is perfect. I thought HL2:EP2 had a perfect cliff hanger to lead into a non-episodic game.
Why does the name ryuuk sound so familiar
That's what I was thinking as well. [editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
Didn't effect it that much.
They had to remake most of the game?
Didn't effect it that much.
What? They scrapped most of the game and delayed it for a year.
What? They scrapped most of the game and delayed it for a year.
They didn't scrap most of the game, play the damn leak. Story was still the same (except where it ended and some other shit), levels were still basically the same (idea wise) level order was still the same, etc.
Gotta say I got scared for a moment, in the main page I could only see "Half-Life 3..." And I immediately thought "Oh fuck no LulzSec leaked it".
Too be honest I think this is perfect. I thought HL2:EP2 had a perfect cliff hanger to lead into a non-episodic game.
yes, and i dont even know if HL3 is gonna be what episode 3 was only longer and with more features.
What's probably going to happen: Half-Life 3 starts as Episode 3, Episode 3 ends, then *so and so years later (you know what I mean, any variation)* then Half-Life 3.
Why does the name ryuuk sound so familiar
Ryugi, maybe. The creepy stalker and would-be rapist from facepunch.
Well I mean it's obvious the game is being worked on. What I'm most surprised is not that the game has been confirmed by this, but the fact that it says he worked on it from 2008 to 2010 which means it's been in development for about 3 to 4 years now, which indicates a 2012 release might be very likely. HL2 took 5 years with a huge security problem. I also doubt they would extend the development for much longer than 5 years.

The developement time and the banning is just icing on the cake.
I want to believe, but it is probably lies :smithicide:
I think the ending of EP2 could contribute to such a theory, but honestly even if it wasn't true, I'd still have VALVe in my list of loved dev's.
Oh man oh god YES I fucking knew it Valve. They are going to shake the world with the official announcement of Half Life 3, quite literally, as the brain of every single living organism on this rock will simultaneously explode and smear Gabe with love [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] I hope they continue from where Episode 2 ended, and make a twice as long game since it's not an episodic anymore This has to fucking stay in the sensationalist headlines as this is fucking sensationalist!
Thank fuck. Valve should stop hiding and REVEAL IT. But i will not, i SHALL not fall for this until i get an official confirmation that this isn't a troll.

All the article does is tell us that it IS in developement, not that Gordon Freeman dies at the end of HL3 and Eli is still alive or some stupid shit.
Better this than the source code being stolen.
The article suggests that it's been quietly in development since 2008. Oh fuck yes.
With that long of a development time they may be giving it a new engine.
