It passed the senate, doesn't mean it's actually a state law now. It still has the house. What confuses me is that the law is entirely about animal abuse and has that tiny section right at the bottom; I suppose it's for nothing more than to get more people on board with its passing, which doesn't justify it by any means regardless.

Because of Lawrence v Texas, the part about consenting people is unconstitutional and unenforcable, but they can still enforce it for minors, animals, prostitution, etc.

Ah, so this law has been around since the dawn of time. The specific part about anal with humans is legally unenforceable by law, and the Bills sponsor basically just says in the OP that no one wants to deal with it and cause a debate/hearing and accidentally kill the bill.
So nothing at all has changed. Anal isn't illegal in Michigan.

Born and raised in Indiana myself, I like it here. Smack in the middle of everything. I'm 3 and a half hours from Saint Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati and Louisville. Not exactly the most forward thinking states, but we've got some gems like Southern Indiana's Brown County area and Bloomington.
