I was expecting a hastily held up cave with a few wooden supports. That thing almost looks like a corridor, looks pretty professional.

I can't fucking believe how blown out of proportion this has become. If this was found anywhere else nobody would of cared but because it was close to a venue they're running around screaming.
It's well constructed, but appears somewhat temporary in nature.
My money is on someone from the university digging it for god knows what. Testing a theory, seeing if their carpentry skills were good. Hell, could of just been the good old "Hey, lets build an underground hideout!"
We'll never really know now that it caught so much press. They'll take a loss on their tools and never speak about it again.

People might think that's a bit weird but I've always wanted an underground hideout within which to chill.
I've done it. I know other people who've done it and around here you can find tunnels other people have made for all sorts of reasons. The sedimentary rock here makes tunneling as easy as you see it in Minecraft.
Somewhere in the GTA, a few middle-aged pot smokers with engineering backgrounds are planning an alternative way of keeping their smoking habits out of their houses and out of sight of the old lady, now that TCRA cock-blocked their project.
