GOP chairman: Kids are ‘brainwashed’ on climate change

The only brainwashing here is from the GOP.
It's kind of weird watching as Evangelical Christianity loses its hold on the GOP, the beliefs stay the same but get new justifications. When I was growing up, conservatives denied man-made climate change because the science of it contradicted biblical literalism, and now, conservatives deny man-made climate change on the grounds of some kind of wishy-washy soft-libertarian "EPA are crooks stealing our tax dollars/big bad feds are brainwashing our kids" ideation. That's not to say that it was completely one way or the other then or now, but the balance has changed, it seems to me.
Well, I would.
A living person, no matter what they do, is still a living person, and even if they have done morally wrong things in their lives I still carry respect for them.
Doesn't matter to me if they're sovereign citizens, murderers, or climate change deniers, I still carry respect for them even if I don't respect them as much as others.
If climate change is allowed to continue then the entire human race will die
This is not a hyperbole, this is not an overstatement, it's just how it's gonna play out.

Well not all the human race, just a few billion will do depending on how rapid the changes are.
At best we can hope for a weakened civilisation straining to maintain itself in the wake of demographic and ecological decline as it has to deal with limited resources and a weak economy. At worst we'll probably see a dissolution of most major countries into smaller ones by a process I would describe as "unpleasant"
So basically he's admitting that his own granddaughter would be more effective at his job than he is.
That would make a good Onion title
"Senator admits his own grandchild could do his own job better than him"

Human made climate change would really need to be a lot more catastrophic to lead our species to extinction.
Now mass amount of people will die and civilizations as we know it will cease to exist if climate change continues like this, but humanity will adapt and survive by the end.
But if you ask me, mass amount of people dying will already my major concern to stop climate change.

gingridge litterally said his feelings are also a fact on national television
It's a sad day when a kid comes home from school with a fact based science education...
