What would've happened if Obama had done this to FOX?

Yes, such a frightening fascist administration that absolutely nobody is afraid to speak out against him anywhere. Stow your bald hyperbole, I'll have none of that here.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Hyperbole or not you cannot spin this as a good thing. It's not. It's the administration being obviously biased towards some really SHIT sources.
We'd be fucking LIVID if Hillary had announced that a Gawker or Buzzfeed head was going to be high in her administration, and stinky conservative outlets like FOX could take a hike forever.
Why does Trump and Breitbart get a pass? What makes them different?
You have a right to know what's going on in your government, but the means to get that info is not the government's responsibility, nor should it ever be.
I honestly have no idea what the fuck you're even trying to argue anymore. How the fuck are news agencies supposed to find out what the government is doing if not from the government? Are they supposed to fucking wire tap the white house?
This wasn't a press briefing. Did you read the OP? Guess not. This was a gaggle.
You can use this as a deflection all you want but that's not going to make it any less of a blatant show of favoritism and borderline cronyism on the part of the administration
It's pretty damn transparent that this is less about information and more about making sure there's a positive spin on news of the Trump administration

I would support this initiative. If the government doesn't support transparency, they can get fucked, and deserve any leaks that happen.

It just wouldn't be a Trump thread without someone deflecting to that one time Obama/The Democrats/The Liberals/[YOUR BUZZWORD HERE] did something kinda similar that one time

Seems like it's somewhat up in the air whether it was a mistake or not, and it was quickly cleared up.
Clemente added that White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs acknowledged to Fox News’ White House Correspondent Major Garrett that a low level Treasury staffer made a mistake in attempting to exclude Fox from the pool interviews.
Regardless, I'm quite impressed that the other networks were so quick to say that they wouldn't participate without FOX! Shame that FOX and Breitbart don't seem to feel the same way...

I mean it doesn't even seem like he's even right given the content of the articles and the clarifications made. Seems like it looked like FOX was going to get excluded, everyone rightfully freaked out, and it got fixed.

Are you ok? Frozt asked what would happen if Obama did something like this. Calm down bud.
If Obama's press secretary held gaggles and excluded Fox News then that would be bullshit too.
There, I said it. Am I allowed to be unhappy when Trump does it to CNN?

It got fixed because they were trying to block them from an interview. When the Trump administration starts trying to ban CNN/NYTimes/Huff from appointee interviews then you can run around screaming tyranny.
I guarantee most of the people defending this in here would be having a stroke of rage if this was any other administration here, but of course when it's the Trump administration, you gotta make up an excuse for every single fucking thing they do.
Why would any rational individual get angry if Obama invited CNN, Times, etc etc, but not Fox to a press gaggle. The press corp gets the transcripts and audio recordings of the gaggle. The only thing they miss out on is asking the Press Sec. questions.
There are very real and very legit concerns with Trumps administration and this isn't one of them. By pushing this bullshit you're taking the spotlight off the actual shit he's doing and pushing people to shitty ass fringe news groups like Breitbart.

What concerns?
You have a right to know what's going on in your government, but the means to get that info is not the government's responsibility, nor should it ever be.
Yes, such a frightening fascist administration that absolutely nobody is afraid to speak out against him anywhere. Stow your bald hyperbole, I'll have none of that here.
If a few days of disagreeable forum posts is all it takes to lose your respect, I fear you are either doling it out too loosely, or just not examining your subjects well enough.
Your failure to understand key principles of american government and society are not the fault of your critics. The right to know what the federal government is doing without any spin belongs to the people and the states, not the discretion of the man at the head of it.
As a conservative man myself, you people make me ashamed of the authoritarian campaign donor machine that the party's become.
What concerns?
Well for starters
He made it abundantly clear he was gonna deport criminal aliens(real criminal aliens, not the only crime is being here types). Great, fantastic, we're seeing that. But these new guidelines from DHS have a huge gray area and it sounds like ALL of them could be deported because again, they technically are criminal for being here illegally.
In his last town hall before elections he asked the audience what they think. 1 dude cheered for deport everyone. Virtually everyone was on board for deport actual criminals only. And he took that to heart and he talks about taking a compassionate approach to the situation. So hopefully they stick to the plan but that gray area is nevertheless very concerning.
And the Wall remains fucking retarded. Hopefully these roadblocks he keeps running into with it causes him to break that pledge and instead focus on technology and more patrols for the border.
I get Buzzfeed, I get the Daily Mail, I even sort of get CNN.
BBC though? They're part of my superstar tag-team of news organizations who make at least some semblance of an effort to offer unbiased reporting, along with Reuters and the AP. Weird that they picked them.
I never thought I'd take the side of the MSM until this administration, it's really amazing. I've gone from saying 'don't trust what you say on the news' to 'okay try and just watch the news'.
Well if they keep pushing false stories they're going to get banned. Trump basically said at CPAC "I don't care if its negative, just don't run false stories"
I don't understand how you can take this seriously when Trump and his staff routinely lie in the most blatant ways, about the most childish things. This would be a reasonable statement for someone who doesn't spread fake news themselves, and doesn't falsely accuse anything negative of being fake.
"Why should Americans trust you when you accuse the information that they receive of being fake, when you're providing information that's inaccurate?"
At least more reputable than Buzzfeed, who is also booted out right now. CNN deserves to get thrown to the back of the press queue too for paddling bullshit too often, such as that whole false rumor of Trump throwing out the MLK bust in the Oval Office.
If they're being thrown back because of that, Fox News deserves the wrong time listed on their invitation from their objectively false reporting for years
I love how there are people in this thread saying "I don't know why the BBC is banned" as if it wasn't perfectly clear already.
Trump doesn't give a shit about journalistic integrity or shoddy journalism. All he wants is for dissenting voices to go away.
You have a right to know what's going on in your government, but the means to get that info is not the government's responsibility, nor should it ever be.
This is like saying: You have a right to what's inside the safe, but not to the combination. Are you expecting the press to break into the white house and steal some secret documents? That's what you think they should have to do?
The right to know what's going on in the government is synonymous with having the means to know what's going on in the government. If you believe in one then you must absolutely believe that it's the governments responsibility to provide those means, or else you're delusional.
