What. You do realize that Europe was the power-house of colonial powers and they usually were importing people from different countries for the sake of cultural investigation for centuries correct? You really wanna know why theirs such a big stink in Europe right now? You really want to know? It's because immigration and "refugees" are eating away at the low and middle income jobs and are effecting a great deal of Europeans who are wanting to work those jobs, but cannot because most of these jobs are done by those refugees for little to no income. Its because Europe as a whole is right now in a massive housing shortage and those which are born in-country are losing their homes to make way for the refugees and asylum seekers. It is because people do not see justice in forcing people to live on the streets in homelessness when they could of lived in the hundreds of refugee camps which their neighboring countries have offered. It is because people are sick of the so called "starving refugees" refusing food, aid, and services from the Red Cross for simply having a cross. Whether you like it or not, many reasons exist for why the EU should entirely lock out refugees and asylum seekers and take care of it's own people first. The entirety of the United Nations should be coordinating a relief effort instead of going about forcing countries to intake refugees. You cannot honestly expect the current system to work when all it has done so far has lead people to become spiteful and join anti-immigration groups to prevent further destruction of their countries lower-income groups.
Our social security systems(by the way the most advanced and generous ones in the world) are collapsing because of the disparity between old and youg, not people wrongfully getting cash. We don't have a housing shortage, we have actually a massive problems with housing unoccupied in the EX-GDR areas. It's getting so dire cities started letting people live in many houses for free as long as the people keep the housing from crumbling. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%C3%A4chterhaus Rents are shooting up like crazy because of the cheap money from the stupid bank bailouts leading to everyone renovating and upping prices. We have massive housing surplus in countryside areas, we have massive housing surplus in the outer rims of big cities. Refugees aren't even allowed to work for one year. Little example about "they're taking our jobs?" When they introduced quotas for asparagus harvesting the farmers couldn't harvest their stuff because no German worker wanted to do the job. You're wrong about just about everything. Quotes please.
You didn't even read my full post. Great job.

Also yes, this issue has been a long time coming and is about to become current. The amount of refugees is pretty small compared to the age-imbalance. Otherwise I can confirm all of this (regarding the effects at least. I'm not sure about the reasons since I haven't read up on that). It's a bit aggravating when people from the US try to explain that "[the refugees are a huge problem for Germany because x]" while having absolutely zero clue about the local economy or politics. (Isn't that asparagus quota thing quite a while back (1998) though? I mean during that time unemployment was far higher so your point still stands, but iirc there should be newer examples of this too.)
